Your county government is continually working to find ways to keep residents informed. Electronic communication provides immediate, current information at your convenience. The Media Services Division, your source for county information, offers several options for accessing county government information on our website at www.CharlesCountyMD.gov.
The Charles County Government online calendar is a great way to learn about meetings, recreation and tourism events, commissioners’ meetings and other opportunities to get involved with your county government. View the calendar on our website for county event dates, times, descriptions and points of contact. Simply click on the calendar icon, then select which calendar items you would like to view. The online calendar is customizable and allows you to filter events by category: boards and commissions and county commissioners’ meetings, county government events, trainings and seminars, and things to do. You also have the option to print the calendar if you prefer not to write the events on your personal calendar.
Another online resource is news releases. The media services division sends news releases directly to local and national news media. News releases cover important county government news, including changes in county policy, new staff positions, upcoming commissioner meetings and public hearings, community outreach, public service announcements and more. Check the website each week to read the newest releases and catch up on news.
When there is urgent information or important breaking news, the county website will feature a special red alert banner at the top of the page. A red notification banner is activated when there is a weather, health or safety emergency or alert. When you see the red banner, click it for more information. Paying attention to the red web banners can keep you and your family informed and safe.
