Prince-Mont Swim League Week 5 roundup

Division B Smallwood 301, Strathmore Bel Pre 278

The Marlins had four triple winners and two double winners en route to edging their opponents from Montgomery County on Saturday and finishing the Prince-Mont dual meet season at 3-2.

Clayton Jameson won three events, breaking records in two of them.

Jameson won the 11- to 12-yearold boys 50-meter butterfly in 33.99 seconds. He claimed the 11-12 boys 50 backstroke in the same time of 33.99, breaking a team record that he set on June 24 by nearly a half of a second.

Jameson wrapped up his triple by winning the 12-and-Under boys 100 individual medley in 1 minute 14.63 seconds, setting a new Smallwood pool record that stood since 1996 by over a minute. Jameson was also a part of the winning 9-18 boys 200 freestyle relay (2:04.34) that included Pierce Mussante, Justin Truitt and Lawrence Sapp.

Sapp was a triple winner, setting a new Smallwood pool record in the 15-18 50 fly (27.33) by five one-hundredths of a second. The previous mark had stood since 1997. Sapp also claimed the 15-18 boys 100 free (57.23) and 15-18 boys 50 back (29.94).

Mallory Thompson tripled in the 11-12 girls 50 fly (38.67), 1112 girls 50 free (33.74) and 12-U girls 100 IM (1:29.66).

Kiera Salazar was a triple winner in the 8-U girls 25 free (21.13), 8-U girls 25 breaststro­ke (30.43) and 8-U girls 25 back (30.53). Salazar edged Strathmore’s Jamie Spelman by 13 one-hundredths of a second to claim the 25 back event and was part of the winning 8-U mixed 100 free relay that included Michael Thompson, Joyce Kang and Zachary Saunders (1:31.64).

Mussante won the 9-10 boys 50 free (37.66) and edged teammate Cyrus Salazar by seven one-hundredths of a second to take the 9-10 boys 25 breast (25.75).

Truitt was a double winner as well in the 13-14 boys 50 free (27.74) and 13-14 boys 50 back (33.60).

Single winners for Smallwood were Ryann Tompkins (11-12 girls 50 breast 46.98), Osly Melendez (15-18 boys 50 breast 37.72), Nathalie LaFontant (1518 girls 50 breast 38.43), Alicen McConnell (11-12 girls 50 back 42.43) and Cora Jameson (13-14 girls 50 back 36.72).

Division D Belair Swim & Racquet 305, Westlake 261

The Waves had three triple winners, a double winner and won three relays in Saturday’s loss to their opponents from Prince George’s County, finishing dual meet season at 0-5.

Sarah Dang was a triple winner in the 9-10 girls 50 free (42.14), 9-10 girls 25 breast (26.53) and 9-10 girls 25 back (25.34).

Noah Burriss tripled in the 13-14 boys 50 free (30.76), 13-14 boys 50 back (39.50) and 13-14 boys 100 IM (1:21.63).

Emily Decker won three events, the 15-18 girls 100 free (1:06.34), 15-18 girls 50 breast (39.64) and 15-18 girls 100 IM (1:17.91).

The lone double winner was Isabella Smith in the 13-14 girls 50 fly (36.46) and 13-14 girls 50 free (33.50).

Westlake won both 18-U 200 medley relay events. Burriss, David Schuyler, Christian Decker and Alexander Booth claimed the win in boys (2:24.78) by one-tenth of a second over Belair, while Kerrigan McMillen, Emily Decker, Tyra Agnew and Carla Arqueron won for the girls (2:23.00).

Dang was a part of the winning 9-18 girls 200 free relay with Cassie Huber, Marin Patterson and Maria Miller (2:34.95).

Single winners for Westlake were Agnew (15-18 girls 50 fly 34.71; one-tenth of a second over McMillen), Robert Polk (1314 boys 50 breast 43.28), Adriana Imes (13-14 girls 50 breast 41.12), McMillen (15-18 girls 50 back 36.00) and Booth (15-18 boys 100 IM 1:20.25).

Division E Indian Head 286, Temple Hills 261

The Torpedoes had three triple winners, two double winners and won four relays en route to a victory over their opponents from Prince George’s County, wrapping up their regular season slate at 2-3.

Luke Machnicki was a triple winner in the 11-12 boys 50 fly (43.50), 11-12 boys 50 free (34.65) and 11-12 boys 50 breast (48.88).

Alex Nguyen and Madison Rueda each won three events in the 8-U category. Nguyen claimed victories in the 8-U boys 25 free (24.60), 8-U boys 25 breast (35.19) and 8-U boys 25 back (32.32). Rueda won the 8-U girls 25 free (30.26), 8-U girls 25 breast (41.38) and 8-U 25 back (36.87).

Double winners were Abigail Vanasse in the 11-12 girls 50 breast (49.15) and 12-U girls 100 IM (1:33.29) and Billy McConnell in the 11-12 boys 50 back (45.83) and 12-U boys 100 IM (1:42.00).

Indian Head won both 200 medley relay events. Shaun Butler, Garrett Batchelor, Brett Culhane and Bryan Mentzer won the boys (2:11.64) and Rebecca Proctor, Savannah Santos, Vanasse and Renae Rohde won the girls (2:42.81). Rueda, Benjamin Pickle, Julianna Miller and Nguyen claimed the 8-U mixed 100 free relay (2:05.61) and Logan Robertson, Machnicki, Michael Ahern and Butler won the 9-18 boys 200 free relay (2:36.58).

Single winners were Emelia FitzPatric­k (11-12 girls 50 fly 44.13), Sydni Robertson (13-14 girls 50 fly 41.77), Logan Robertson (9-10 boys 25 free 50.56), Dolan Bragunier (9-10 boys 25 breast 33.64), Kyla Smith (1112 girls 50 back 42.56), Catherine Sylvain (13-14 girls 50 back 46.93), Butler (15-18 boys 50 back 32.09) and Culhane (15-18 boys 100 IM 1:13.16).
