Trump has accomplished much, despite harsh critics

- Gloria Hawkins, Prince Frederick

Not in the past 100 years has there been so “much to do about nothing.” I don’t know anyone who can remember so much hatred and backlash for any president as there has been for President Trump. No matter what he tries to do to fulfill his promises to the masses who voted for him, he is criticized, threatened and ridiculed. If there are any promises he has not yet fulfilled, it isn’t because he hasn’t tried, but because the Supreme Court, federal courts and “cry baby” Democrats have fought against him.

Yet, he continues to fight to reverse the disastrous policies of the former administration. Check out a few of his accomplishments: Approved Keystone and Dakota pipeline and removed unnecessar y burdensome roadblocks that prevent us from being energy independent; Cut red tape to save American businesses $18 billion/year; Increased border patrol, bringing down illegal crossings by 61 percent, the lowest in 17 years; Cut funding for Sanctuary Cities; Rolled back anti-coal regulations; Signed the travel ban to keep America safe from terrorists; Combated use of chemical weapons in Syria; Increased military budget to make us combat ready; Improved veteran care and facilities; Renegotiated the F-35 to save us $700 million; Nominated new Supreme Court justice; Negotiated new trade deals with several nations; Has worked around the clock with world leaders to destroy ISIS by cutting off funding; Removed unnecessar y regulations of the EPA; Took America out of the global climate hoax that demanded millions of America dollars; Retracted the “bathroom bill;” Fired incompetent people not interested in following the law; Approved high priority infrastructure bill; Reduced the regulator y and control costs on small businesses; Put a five year ban on lobbying and lifetime ban on foreign lobbying; Directed the DHS to build the wall, with construction to begin soon; Repeal Obamacare — still tr ying to win this one in order to reduce the financial burden and penalties on businesses and patients.

President Trump began working for America even before the inauguration by negotiating with Boeing to reduce the cost of Airforce One, saving us millions. He has tirelessly worked to fulfill his promises, yet signed fewer executive orders in the first 12 days than Obama did. As commander-in-chief, his first obligation is to protect America. I believe he is trying to do that. He is different because he is not a politician. He is crude, rude, but “all American,” and many times “tweets” before he thinks, but he is our president and it’s time we respected his position and stop bashing him.
