Rehm pilots University of Maryland team to first place finish
a sophomore at University of Maryland, piloted his team to a first place finish at the American Helicopter Society International Micro Air Vehicle Student Challenge on May 8 in Ft. Worth, Texas. The UMD team of four finished with the fastest time and was the only team to successfully complete the challenge on their first attempt.
Rehm is a graduate of La Plata High School. He is the son of Brian and Vicki Rehm of La Plata .
Lopez earns academic honors at Carleton College
of Waldorf, a senior at Carleton College, was elected to the Sigma Xi honor society and received the Jefferson Natural Sciences Teaching Award at a recent Honors Convocation.
Election to the Carleton Chapter of Sigma Xi, a national honor society, indicates that a student has demonstrated evidence of research potential in a field of pure or applied science. The Jefferson Natural Sciences Teaching Award is given annually to current students who have demonstrated an interest in and capacity for teaching children or adults in the natural sciences.
Towers named to MAC honor roll
of Hughesville, is one of more than 150 Lebanon Valley College student-athletes named to the Middle Atlantic Conference’s (MAC) Winter/ Spring Academic Honor Roll. Towers, a gradute of Saint Marys Ryken High School, is a member of the baseball team, and is pursuing a bachelor of science in accounting at The Valley.

of Accokeek graduated in May 2017 from Roger Williams University with an associate of science degree in paralegal studies.
Taylor recognized for honors at Emporia State
of Waldorf was named to the honor roll and The Teachers College dean’s list at Emporia State University for the spring 2017 semester. To qualify for the university honor roll, students earned a minimum 3.80 semester grade point average in at least 12 graded hours.
