Springfiel­d tea room extends its weekend hours

This week in Springfiel­d-area food news: A Rountree favorite extends its Friday and Saturday hours, and a southside spot gets new owners, new menu and a new name. Also, Nixa's food hall debuts a weekly special.

Enjoy tea room fare longer on Friday and Saturday

Tea Bar & Bites Bakery & Cafe, 621 S. Pickwick Ave., is extending its hours on Friday and Saturday, according to a Facebook post.

The Rountree Neighborho­od staple has long served breakfast and lunch. But starting this week, Tea Bar & Bites will stay open until 6 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, serving its lunch menu.

"Kick off your night on our beautiful patio with friends, or order online and enjoy your Tea Bar on the move," Tea Bar & Bites said in a Facebook post. "Either way, we're excited to offer more time and ways to serve you!"

Tea Bar & Bites will also feature happy hour specials from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Friday and Saturday. The restaurant is open from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday and closed Sunday and Monday.

Rey's opens where City Cafe used to be

The restaurant at 2129 W. Republic Road has new owners and a new menu. Rey's Family Restaurant, which serves all-day breakfast as well as lunch and dinner, is in the spot that used to house City Cafe.

The menu includes breakfast skillets, omelets, sandwiches, salads and entrees.

Rey's is open from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday and from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sunday. It is closed on Monday.

Nixa food hall starts Wednesday specials

Starting April 10, guests at 14 Mill Market, 203 E. Mount Vernon St. in Nixa, can eat for a special price on Wednesdays.

"Indulge in a variety of special delectable dishes from all vendors, from savory sandwiches to tasty tacos and sliders, all for just $5 each!" 14 Mill Market said in a Facebook post.

The food hall is open 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday; 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Friday; 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Saturday and from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday.
