Movie: Mary Poppins Returns, 8:20 PM on FREE: Emily Blunt steps into the iconic (and Oscarwinni­ng) movie role of the practicall­y perfect nanny in Rob Marshall’s 2018 musical fantasy, a sequel to Walt Disney’s 1964 classic “Mary Poppins.” The new story finds Mary Poppins returning to Depression­era London to help the now adult Michael and Jane Banks (Ben Whishaw and Emily Mortimer) who are grappling with some very grown-up troubles.

Movie: Don’t Go Breaking My Heart, 9 PM on HALL: Miranda (Italia Ricci) finally is enjoying some success with Breakup Boot Camp, a program she developed to help the recently broken-hearted. Her latest group of “campers” includes journalist Ben (Ryan Paevey), who insists he has come entirely to support his sister, not out of any personal need in the fallout from a recent failed romance. The truth is, Ben’s there on assignment to do an undercover story on whether Miranda’s venture is just giving false hope to clients in this new 2021 romance.

Movie: Luther, 10:15 PM on TCM: Stacy Keach stars as Martin Luther, a seminal figure of the Protestant Reformatio­n in 16th-century Europe in British director Guy Green’s 1974 film adaptation of a biographic­al play by John Osborne. The story, which covers events from 1506 to 1526, finds Luther being challenged on several pivotal decisions in his life by a young knight (Julian Glover). The cast also features Patrick Magee, Hugh Griffith, Robert Stephens and Judi Dench. “Luther” originally was released as part of American Film Theatre’s series of stage-to-film adaptation­s produced by Ely Landau.
