Upcoming Programs at the Clark County Public Library

Events at the Clark County Public Library the Week of April 11 include:

■ Harry Potter Club Online: 4 p.m. Monday - Do you enjoy all things Harry Potter? Join in for a virtual Harry Potter Club to be viewed on Facebook and Youtube. We will learn a magical craft together. Take pictures of your craft and share on Facebook for everyone to enjoy. Geared toward kids ages 7-12 years.

■ Little Blossoms Storytime Online: 9:30 a.m. Tuesday - This storytime engages babies and toddlers with books and learning through stories, music, movement and a simple craft to help develop fine motor skills. For ages birth to 2.5 years.

■ Little Sprouts Storytime Online: 10:30 a.m. Tuesday - Led by a profession­al staff librarian, this storytime prepares preschoole­rs for later reading success through interactiv­e stories, songs, rhymes, crafts and other fun activities to promote early literacy. For ages 3-5 years.

■ Afterschoo­l Posse Online: 4 p.m. Wednesday - Come join the online library posse! Kids ages 6-12 can join other kids in making crafts while listening along to a weekly selection of stories. Wednesdays online with Miss Amanda. This week’s selection: “The Watcher: Jane Goodall’s Life with the Chimps” by Jeanette Winter. Craft: yarn art. Needed supplies: card stock, pencil, yarn in a variety of colors, clear-drying glue, scissors.

■ Word Smiths: 4 p.m. Friday - During this online program for teens ages 14-18 (in high school), the staff presenter will discuss elements of storytelli­ng that can apply to fiction, graphic novels, movies and more! This week’s topic will be Creating a Character. So you have a great idea to work with, but you don’t have a great star character? Need to strengthen your cast? In this meeting, we’ll go over tools and ideas to help you create unique individual­s by using a variety of approaches. Led by a BFA in creative writing graduate. Prompts included.

■ Between the Covers Book Club: 6:30 p.m. Monday - This book club meets monthly, currently online via Zoom. This month’s book discussion will be about “How to Walk Away” by Katherine Center.

■ Among Us: 5 p.m. Wednesday - Children age 13-18 may join in virtually in playing “Among Us,” a game of deduction and mystery. Can you stop the imposter before they destroy the spaceship and all of your crewmates? Download the free game for IOS or Android. Registrati­on for each game is limited to 9 people.
