Sunday, Nov. 28

■ 9 a.m. St. John’s Lutheran Church, 27 N. Wittenberg Ave., Springfiel­d, will have sanctuary service in its large sanctuary that has plenty of room for social distancing. The Rainbow Table lunch is from noon to 1 p.m. Fridays. Rainbow Table lunch will be closed Dec. 3, Dec. 24 and Dec. 31. St. John’s has taken all safety precaution­s and social distancing is in effect.

The food pantry is open 9 to 10:45 a.m. on second, third and fourth Wednesdays of every month.

The Outreach Thrift Store is open from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. every Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday.

■ 10 a.m. First Baptist Church of Springfiel­d will be worshiping at 638 South Fountain Ave., Springfiel­d, with social distancing and CDC guidelines observed. Worship is family-friendly and welcomes children. The First Sunday in Advent will be celebrated with a message by Pastor Adam Banks and the lighting of the first Advent candle, representi­ng Wonderful Counselor from Isaiah 9:6. Special music will be provided by Emerson Babian on the piano. Joyce Webb will lead the congregati­on in the singing of the hymns. The service is also available online live at 10 a.m. through the church web site: www.firstbapti­stspringfi­eld. org, or any time thereafter.

At 11 a.m., the Adult Forum discussion group will be held in the church lounge. First Baptist Springfiel­d is a diverse congregati­on that reflects the population of Springfiel­d. More informatio­n about the church and its activities can also be seen on its Facebook page and its website.

■ 10 a.m. High Street United Methodist Church, 230 E. High St., Springfiel­d, church services have re-opened and are now in person, with pastor Cynthia Atwater: 10 a.m. church service; 10:15 a.m. children and youth service; 11 a.m. fellowship; 11:15 a.m. Sunday school (all ages).
