Mobile mammogram

The Mercy Health Mobile Mammograph­y Unit will be at several locations in Clark and Champaign counties in December.

■ Friday, Dec. 3, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Huntington Bank, 2961 Derr Road in Springfiel­d.

■ Tuesday, Dec. 7, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Lakeview IGA Grocery Store, 534 N. Main St. in New Carlisle.

■ Thursday, Dec. 9, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Rocking Horse Community Health Center, 651 S. Limestone St. in Springfiel­d.

■ Friday, Dec. 10, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at St. Paris Family Medicine, the parking lot of First Central National Bank on Springfiel­d St.

■ Thursday, Dec. 16, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Walgreens, 2609 E. Main St. in Springfiel­d.

■ Friday, Dec. 17, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Cherry Arbors Retirement Community, 125 Cherry St. in North Lewisburg.

■ Tuesday, Dec. 21, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Mechanicsb­urg United Methodist Church, 42 N. Main St.

To schedule a 15-minuted 3D or 2D mammogram, call 937-523-9332. A doctor’s order is not needed for screening. Mammograms are covered by most health insurance plans but check with your insurance provider for exact coverage. No cost screenings are available for those who qualify. When you call to register, ask about the financial options. Be sure to bring a photo ID and insurance card. Walk-ins are welcome but not guaranteed.

On Saturday, Santa will arrive by plane at 9:30 a.m. Kids are urged to watch Santa fly in at the Andy Barnhart Memorial Airport. The parade line up will be at 9:30 a.m. at Madison and Main streets, then walk to Lake Avenue and the firehouse. The Tecumseh Arrows Marching Band will perform a mini concert after the parade.

A visit with Santa and costume contest will be held after the parade at 315 N. Church St. Visit with Santa and Mrs. Claus and enjoy juice and cookies. There will be judging for the best holiday or storybook costumes, and three prizes will be awarded to the winners. In order to be judged, kids need to participat­e in costume and walk in the parade. carols to sing, tours of our 19th century log house, the Mike Barry Center will be open with its art gallery of local artists, the Heritage Shoppe will be open for gifting, and Santa will be there to listen to the children’s wishes.
