Main Library

■ Storybook Stroll: June 1 – July 31 - Take a stroll along Fountain Avenue, stopping at business windows along the way, as your family reads The Rainbow Fish by Marcus Pfister. Maps for the walk available at all library locations. Book page locations are: Clark County Public Library, The Heritage Center, Un Mundo, Cohatch, Champion City Guide + Supply, Winans, Stella Bleu and Clark State Performing Arts Center.

■ Swimming Shark Take-nmake: month of June - Create an ocean scene for your shark to swim through. Pick up materials in the Lenski Children’s Center. All ages.

■ Treasure Hunt Search &

Find: month of June - Visit the Lenski Children’s Center to find answers to riddles and use them to discover a secret message. Show the message to a librarian and you’ll receive your special treasure! All ages.

■ Seek and Find: Sun: Month of June - Can you find the images of the sun hidden around the Lenski Children’s Center? See the staff person at the desk for a prize once you’ve found them all. Ages 3-18 (and still in school).

■ Ludic League: 2 – 4:30 p.m. Sunday - Join in for a ludic time exploring a plethora of games in Meeting Rooms 1 and 2. For all skill levels. Adults 18 and over (out of high school).

■ Freddy Fossil’s Dino Show: 11 a.m. Monday - Freddy Fossil is a zany paleontolo­gist who has created laughter and learning at hundreds of libraries nationwide. See this upbeat and interactiv­e show in the Gaier Room. All ages.

■ Little Blossoms Storytime: 9:30 a.m. Tuesday - This storytime engages babies and toddlers with books and learning through stories, music, movement and a simple craft idea to help develop fine motor skills.

For ages birth to 2.5 years. Held in the Gaier Room.

■ Little Sprouts Storytime: 10:30 a.m. Tuesday - Led by a profession­al staff librarian, this storytime prepares preschoole­rs for later reading success through interactiv­e stories, songs, rhymes, a craft idea and other fun activities to promote early literacy. For ages 3-5. Held in the Gaier Room.

■ Hiit to be Fit: 2 p.m. Tuesday - Join Marian Plank (NASM, CPT, CNC) for a free full body workout combining elements of strength and cardio set to a fun, upbeat soundtrack. Bring yourself and a mat! For adults in the Gaier Room.

■ Literacy on the Lawn: 2 – 3 p.m. Tuesday - Visit the Bookmobile at Lincoln Park (1900 Huron Ave.) for frosty treats, free books and fun activities on the lawn. All ages.

■ Local Author Book Club-farzana Moon: 6:30 p.m. Tuesday Join in for a chat with local author Farzana Moon about her release American Queen. Copies available to check out from the library’s collection. For adults in the Gaier Room.

■ Sweet Stitchers: 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Wednesday - Do you love to sew, knit or crochet, and do you like sweets? Bring your supplies to this club and we’ll supply the treats. Your finished items will be given to a local charity. For adults at all skill levels.

■ Lenski Luau: 4 p.m. Wednesday - Enjoy games, crafts and tropical snacks. Bring your own reusable water bottle for beverages to help cut down on plastic waste. For ages 5-18 in the Gaier Room.

■ Literacy on the Lawn: 2 – 3 p.m. Thursday - Visit the Bookmobile at Grand Avenue Family Park (349 W. Grand Ave.) for frosty treats, free books and fun activities on the lawn. All ages.

■ LEGO Club: 6 p.m. Thursday - Create a theme LEGO masterpiec­e to be displayed in the Lenski Center. Bricks are supplied for those ages 5-12. In the Gaier Room.

■ Ocean Origami: 6 p.m. Thursday - Dive into the hobby of paper folding by joining us for some ocean-themed origami! Try your best and fold a sea buddy that won’t leave you high and dry. For ages 11-18 in the Lenski Program Room.

■ Decode Secret Nautical

Flag Messages: June 1 – June 30 - Pick up entry form and list of alphabet flags, then walk around South Charleston to find secret messages displayed in windows of businesses. Decode them and turn in a completed form to the library no later then June 30th to receive a small treat. All correct entries will be entered into a drawing for a gift card. All ages.

■ At the Pond: 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. Wednesday - Join in as we read about insects and animals found near the river or pond. Featuring pond-related activities and a craft. Ages 3-5.

■ Piece By Piece - Adults: library hours – rotating puzzle. Come spend as much or as little time to help put together this community project. The puzzle will remain until it has been completed. A new puzzle will be selected to replace it.

■ Grow Our Octopus: June 1 – July 27 - Stop by the library and check out items to help us grow our octopus. For every two items checked out, children will receive a strip of paper to create a link to add to the octopus. How long will his arms stretch? All ages.

■ Oceans of Possibilit­ies Crossword: month of June Stop by the library to pick up a crossword puzzle to test your knowledge of books and movies related to the sea. For adults and teens, located on the counter near the copy machine.

■ Whale-igami: month of June - Stop by the library to pick up supplies and directions to make an origami whale (while supplies last). All ages.

■ Under the Sea Young Artist Display: June 1 – July 27 - Help create an underwater world by selecting a coloring page to take home and decorate as you wish. Return your artwork to be displayed (it will not be returned.) All ages.

■ Ocean Life Puzzle: June 1 – July 27 - Check out the poster on the juvenile bulletin board to match the sea life number and guess the missing letter. Place letters below on your answer sheet to discover a mystery word, then bring your sheet to the desk to receive a sea life sticker. All ages.

■ Pirate Treasure Hunt: month of June - Can you find the pirate treasure at the library? Stop by the circulatio­n desk for a map and follow the clues until you find the “X” that marks the spot! As a reward, you’ll earn a portion of the pirate booty. All ages.

■ Take & Make Craft: June 1 – June 11 - Craft bags will be available to pick up weekly during regular library hours. This week’s craft is a woven bookmark. Weave a colorful paper bookmark to help keep your place while you read and adorn it with an ocean creature bead. Ages 7-18.

■ Take & Make Craft: June 6 – June 11 - This week’s craft is Jellyfish Fun. These colorful ocean creatures will look good hanging around your house. Ages 6 and under.

Clark County; MILLER, Grover Clark County; POTTER, Jr., Charles 92 of Springfiel­d, passed away on Tuesday, May 31, 2022, in

Springfiel­d Regional Medical

Center. He was born in Springfiel­d on March 5, 1930, the son of Burdette Paul and Eva Viola

(Pflueger) Miller. He retired from Navistar after more than

40 years of service and was a

Mason. Survivors include his two children, Grant Miller and

Abbie Miller; seven grandchild­ren, Veronica, Hannah, Jacob,

Sage, Madeline, Elijah and Piper; great-grandson, Bronson and two sisters, Dorothy Neer and Judy Desjardins. He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty and two sisters, Patty Tullis and Jennie Patton. Private services will be held in CONROY FUNERAL HOME.
