Car show today benefits nonprofit
St. Joseph Home, a Cincinnati-based nonprofit that provides support systems for people with complex disabilities and their families, announces a partnership with the Knights of Columbus and the group’s 6th Annual Classic Cars & Trucks Show. The event will be held at 500 S. Reading Road, Mason, today from 8:30 to 3 p.m. Admission prices for exhibitors will be $15 and free for the public.
St. Joseph Home, serving the Cincinnati community since 1873, creates a home for infants, children and adults with developmental disabilities who have complex support needs and use a wheelchair for mobility. The Home, a nonprofit ministry of the Sisters of Charity of Cincinnati, focuses attention on the individual’s medical, social, educational and spiritual development, revealing the uniqueness and giftedness of each person. Compassionate care and respect for the dignity of life are the hallmarks of St. Joseph Home.
“We’re delighted to partner with the St. Susanna
Knights of Columbus for this special event,” shares Jordan Huizenga, St. Joseph Home vice president of Advancement. “Being the beneficiary of the 6th Annual Classic Cars & Trucks Show allows for us to continue to help people like Angie reach new heights. We are so grateful for the support of this event and this team.”
The two organizations have recently teamed together to serve several Cincinnati-area residents in need. In fact, one recipient, Angie, received a communication device enabling her to speak to her mother, calling her “Mom,” for the first time. In short, St. Joseph Home prides itself in being the place where “possibility overcomes disability,” opening doors for many other individuals like Angie. The Knights of Columbus and St. Joseph Home, together, hope to help many more dreams come true through the success of the upcoming car show and more.
