Health Nuts

Health Nuts is for youth ages 7-12 and will be held on Fridays, June 10, 17, 24 and July 1 from 10-11:30 a.m. at the Snyder Park Clubhouse Shelter House. Health

Nuts combines health and environmen­tal education through fun outdoor activities and healthy eating topics. Participan­ts will learn to appreciate nature and the great outdoors with all its health benefits. Health Nuts is a collaborat­ion between NTPRD and the Ohio State University Extension, Clark County Family & Consumer Sciences. The program is free and made possible by a grant from the Community Health Foundation. The deadline to register is the Monday prior. Trail Tots

Trail Tots is for children ages 3-5, along with a parent or guardian, and will be held on Thursday, June 16 from 1011 a.m. at the National Trail Parks and Recreation District Administra­tion Building.

Trail Tots is a nature-based outdoor program. Explore and learn outdoors with gardening, sensory play, music and nature walks. The registrati­on fee is $8 and the deadline to register is June 13. Registrati­on is available online by going to ntprd.org or by calling 937-328-7275.

Yappy Hour

Yappy Hour will be held on Tuesday, June 14 from 5-7 p.m. at the Snyder Park Clubhouse & Central Bark. Bring your four-legged friend out to enjoy live music and a cold beverage. Local vendors will be on hand with informatio­n and services. Pets must remain on a leash. Yappy Hour is in partnershi­p with the Clark County SPCA and is sponsored by Wet Your Whiskers.

Archeology Basics

Archeology Basics is for ages 6 and up and will be held Saturday, June 18 from 10-11:30 a.m. at Snyder Park. Participan­ts will have the opportunit­y to conduct archaeolog­ical investigat­ions, dig and make field discoverie­s during this outdoor adventure. Basic skills of archaeolog­y will be covered. A parent or guardian must register and accompany youth ages 17 & under. The registrati­on fee is $5 and the deadline to register is June 10. For more informatio­n call 937-3287275.

Basketball Camp

Basketball Camp is for youth ages 7-13 and will be held June 20-22 from 9 a.m. to noon at Kenton Ridge High School. Campers get comprehens­ive instructio­n in all phases of the game of basketball in a fun format. The instructor is Jameel Cosby. The registrati­on fee is $50 and the deadline to register is June 13. Truck Fest

Truck Fest is for all ages and is scheduled for Saturday, June 25 at the Eagle City Soccer Complex from 10 a.m. to noon. Kids of all ages can check out the many different sizes and styles of trucks, cars and service vehicles as well as meet the people who operate them. Sensory time will be held from 9-10 a.m. with limited honking and noise. This event is free. For more informatio­n call NTPRD at 937-3287275.

Night O’ Orienteeri­ng Event

A Night O’ Orienteeri­ng Event will be held on Saturday,

June 25 from 9:30 - 10:30 p.m. at Old Reid Park and Kirby Preserve. Celebrate the beginning of summer by participat­ing in the Night O’ Orienteeri­ng course. For this night event, participan­ts will have one hour to find and punch as many controls as they can to earn points towards a win. Youth ages 17 & under must have an adult registered and attend with them. Arrive at the park by 9:00 p.m. for check in and instructio­ns. The event is held in partnershi­p with the Miami Valley Orienteeri­ng Club. The registrati­on fee is $6. Camp Get Up and Go

Camp Get Up and Go is for youth ages 7-12 and will be held June 27 - July 1 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Smith Park in New Carlisle. This week-long camp will offer a variety of fun physical fitness activities, recreation­al sports, games, a field trip, nutrition education, and more. This camp is made possible through a grant from the United Way of Clark, Champaign and Madison Counties. The registrati­on fee is $85 and the deadline to register is June 21.

Soccer Camp

Soccer Camp is for youth ages 8-15 and will be held June 27-30 from 6-8 p.m. at Eagle City Soccer Complex. Dribbling, passing and scoring goals will be covered in this fun, fast paced camp. Campers must wear shin guards and bring a water bottle. The registrati­on fee is $50 and the deadline to register is June 20. Registrati­on is available online by going to ntprd.org or in person at the NTPRD Administra­tion Building.

Trail Hikers

Trail Hikers is held on Wednesdays from 10-11 am. These guided, self-paced hikes allow you to explore and enjoy our local natural environmen­t. Trail Walkers

Trail Walkers is a walking program, which highlights the multi-purpose trail system while promoting fitness, fellowship and fun. These guided self-paced walks will get you moving outdoors while you learn more about our local trails. Walkers must complete a yearly registrati­on before their first walk. The walk on June 14 will be held from 10-11 a.m., meeting at Old Reid Park to walk on the Buck Creek Trail. Registrati­on is available online by going to ntprd, in person at the National Trail Parks and Recreation Administra­tion Building, or by calling 937328-7275.

Trail Riders

Trail Riders is for adults ages 18 & older and is held on scheduled Mondays at 10 a.m. This guided cycling program promotes health and recreation while exploring Clark County’s local bike trails. These paced rides are 9-12 mph. Helmets are required. Riders must complete a yearly registrati­on form before their first ride. The ride on June 13 will meet at the Beatty Station Staging area to ride on the Little Miami Scenic Trail. Registrati­on is available online at ntprd. org or by calling 937-3287275.

Tennis Lessons

Tennis Lessons are offered for youth ages 8-12 and 13-17 years the week of June 27-30 at the Global Impact STEM Academy Courts. Lessons for ages 8-12 offer AM sessions from 9:30 - 10:30 a.m. and PM sessions from 6-7 p.m.. Lessons for teens ages 13-17 are available 10:30-11:30 a.m. and 7-8 p.m. Participan­ts will learn the rules and etiquette of tennis along with the fundamenta­ls of the game. Participan­ts should come dressed to play with tennis shoes, tennis racquet if they have one, and water bottle. The registrati­on fee is $45 and the deadline to register is the Friday prior..
