Upcoming Programs at the Clark County Public Library Events at the Clark County Public Library the Week of June 19 include:

Main Library

■ Storybook Stroll: June 1 – July 31 - Take a stroll along Fountain Avenue, stopping at business windows along the way, as your family reads The Rainbow Fish by Marcus Pfister. Maps for the walk available at all library locations. Book page locations are: Clark County Public Library, The Heritage Center, Un Mundo, Cohatch, Champion City Guide + Supply, Winans, Stella Bleu and Clark State Performing Arts Center.

■ Swimming Shark Take-nmake: month of June - Create an ocean scene for your shark to swim through. Pick up materials in the Lenski Children’s Center. All ages.

■ Treasure Hunt Search & Find: month of June - Visit the Lenski Children’s Center to find answers to riddles and use them to discover a secret message. Show the message to a librarian and you’ll receive your special treasure! All ages.

■ Seek and Find: Sun: Month of June - Can you find the images of the sun hidden around the Lenski Children’s Center? See the staff person at the desk for a prize once you’ve found them all. Ages 3-18 (and still in school).

■ Little Blossoms Storytime: 9:30 a.m. Tuesday - This storytime engages babies and toddlers with books and learning through stories, music, movement and a simple craft idea to help develop fine motor skills. For ages birth to 2.5 years. Held in the Gaier Room.

■ Little Sprouts Storytime: 10:30 a.m. Tuesday - Led by a profession­al staff librarian, this storytime prepares preschoole­rs for later reading success through interactiv­e stories, songs, rhymes, a craft idea and other fun activities to promote early literacy. For ages 3-5. Held in the Gaier Room.

■ Summer Food Program: 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday - This summertime program provides a complete lunch, plus additional take-home food to all children ages 1-18, while supplies last. Children must eat lunch on-site. DIY activities for children will be available at each session. For more informatio­n, call the Second Harvest Food Bank at 937-3258715.

■ Hiit to be Fit: 2 p.m. Tuesday - Join Marian Plank (NASM, CPT, CNC) for a free full body workout combining elements of strength and cardio set to a fun, upbeat soundtrack. Bring yourself and a mat! For adults in the Gaier Room.

■ Whale of a Time!: 2 p.m. Tuesday - Step into the belly of a whale and hear stories, learn interestin­g whale facts and create ocean-friendly crafts. For families with children in the Gaier Room.

■ Literacy on the Lawn: 2 – 3 p.m. Tuesday - Visit the Bookmobile at Lincoln Park (1900 Huron Ave.) for frosty treats, free books and fun activities on the lawn. All ages.

■ Sea Glass Magnets: 11 a.m. Thursday - Come make a glass magnet or two with oceantheme­d pictures or your own sea design. For ages 9-12 in the Lenski Program Room.

■ Literacy on the Lawn: 2 – 3 p.m. Thursday - Visit the Bookmobile at Grand Avenue Family Park (349 W. Grand Ave.) for frosty treats, free books and fun activities on the lawn. All ages.

■ Piece By Piece - Adults: library hours – rotating puzzle. Come spend as much or as little time to help put together this community project. The puzzle will remain until it has been completed. A new puzzle will be selected to replace it.

■ Grow Our Octopus: June 1 – July 27 - Stop by the library and check out items to help us grow our octopus. For every two items checked out, children will receive a strip of paper to create a link to add to the octopus. How long will his arms stretch? All ages.

■ Oceans of Possibilit­ies Crossword: month of June Stop by the library to pick up a crossword puzzle to test your knowledge of books and movies related to the sea. For adults and teens, located on the counter near the copy machine.

■ Whale-igami: month of June - Stop by the library to pick up supplies and directions to make an origami whale (while supplies last). All ages.

■ Under the Sea Young Artist Display: June 1 – July 27 - Help create an underwater world by selecting a coloring page to take home and decorate as you wish. Return your artwork to be displayed (it will not be returned.) All ages.

■ Ocean Life Puzzle: June 1 – July 27 - Check out the poster on the juvenile bulletin board to match the sea life number and guess the missing letter. Place letters below on your answer sheet to discover a mystery word, then bring your sheet to the desk to receive a sea life sticker. All ages.

■ Jellyfish Suncatcher: June 15 – July 13 - Stop by the library to pick up supplies and directions to make a jellyfish suncatcher, while supplies last. All ages.

■ Achieving Wellness One Bite at a Time: 6:30 p.m. Monday Program to be presented by a registered and licensed dietitian during which you will learn how to create a healthy plate full of nutrient-dense and delicious foods, how to be an intuitive eater and healthy habits to implement right away.

■ Oceans of Funny Comedy Magic Show: 11 a.m. Wednesday - Tricky Max will present a lively and highly visual educationa­l magic show designed for kids who want to learn about the ocean’s creatures. To be held in the Meeting Room. Registrati­on is required.

■ Decode Secret Nautical Flag

Messages: June 1 – June 30 - Pick up entry form and list of alphabet flags, then walk around South Charleston to find secret messages displayed in windows of businesses. Decode them and turn in a completed form to the library no later than June 30th to receive a small treat. All correct entries will be entered into a drawing for a gift card. All ages.

■ Activity Bag 1: Beginning June 20 - Pick up a take-home craft kit to make your own Jellyfish Lantern to decorate your room, while supplies last.

■ Pirate Treasure Hunt: month of June - Can you find the pirate treasure at the library? Stop by the circulatio­n desk for a map and follow the clues until you find the “X” that marks the spot! As a reward, you’ll earn a portion of the pirate booty.

20 – June 25 - Craft bags will be available to pick up weekly during regular library hours. This week’s craft is an ocean luminary. Create your own beautiful, gently glowing seascape luminary. Ages 7-18.

■ Storytime: 10:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. Thursday - Together we will share stories, sing, move to music and make a craft. It’s a perfect chance to learn how to interact with other children ages 2-5. Parent or caregiver must be present with each child.
