Leo P. Gallagher & Son Funeral Home has been proudly serving the Stamford community since 1928. For over 90 years, we have been dedicated to compassionately supporting families at difficult times, celebrating the significance of lives that have been lived, and preserving memories that transcend generations with dignity and honor. What long-term changes do you see in your business offerings?

Every associate will maintain the highest standards of cleanliness and precautionary measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19. Social distancing will be maintained, hand sanitizer will be offered to all guests and associates, all facility areas and surfaces will be sanitized before and after services or gatherings, and every associate and guest will be asked to wear a mask while in the funeral home.

Despite business being greatly impacted, is there anything you are proud of these last few months?

Understanding the importance of community support, our associates created a temporary viewing “window” in the funeral home chapel, where friends and relatives are able to drive by to show their support, offer condolences, and adhere to the current restrictions while remaining safe. What additional steps are you taking to keep employees and customers safe?

We remain committed to serving our families in any way possible. We will ensure that our families and their guests feel safe conducting services with us. We have developed rigorous health and safety procedures in conjunction with local, state, and CDC guidelines, many of which are outlined above.

What do you consider to be your key differentiator in the marketplace post COVID-19?

We are offering multiple options for arrangements and services, including in-person arrangements and pre-planning consultations at the funeral home or one’s personal residence. We also offer phone, email and web arrangements to help families with funeral arrangements, as well a complimentary livestreamed funeral and graveside services.
