Name: Juan David Ospina Race: 145th state House District Party: Republican

Juan David Ospina, who goes by J.D., is an emerging voice in Stamford’s Republican minority hoping to oust Democratic state Rep. Patricia Billie Miller from her seat in the 145th House District.

Ospina served as a combat medic in the U.S. Army prior to earning master’s degree in public administration from New York University.

He opposes the addition of tolls to state highways and the continued sale of general obligation bonds.
