John R. Salley passed away on December 20, 2022 at the age of 80. Known to most as Bob, he was born on December 13, 1942 in Norwalk. He was the son of the late George and Theresa Doza Salley.

Bob attended Stamford public schools and graduated from Stamford High School in 1961. He then enlisted in the US Air Force serving four years as a “Metal Processing Specialist” at McGuire Air Force Base in New Jersey. Upon discharge he attended and graduated from Norwalk Community College and University of Bridgeport with an Associate and Bachelor’s degrees in Business with an Accounting major. As an accountant he was employed by local corporatio­ns such as Pepperidge Farms, Norman Hoffman, General Time and Computer Investors Group.

He later became involved with a constructi­on company and attended and graduated from Norwalk State Technical College with a degree in Architectu­ral Engineerin­g. He became a partner at Zeiss Constructi­on Company and worked as a VP, Controller, Estimator, and Project Manager for many medium to large constructi­on projects. Bob was a member of Westcheste­r Hills Golf Club for over 50 years and governor for six of those years.

He is survived by his daughters Kirsten Salley (Dan Butler), her son Alex, and Lesley (Tom) Grady and their twins, Grace and Keegan. Also survived by a brother, Thomas (Lisa) of Stamford, beloved niece Kimberly ( Johnny) MacDougall of Shelton and by many other nieces and nephews. He was predecease­d by his parents and his older brother George Jr.

Family will receive relatives and friends on Monday, January 2nd from 2pm to 6pm at Bosak Funeral Home, 453 Shippan Avenue in Stamford. A prayer service will be celebrated at 4pm.
