12 CIAC BOYS GOLFERS TO WATCH
Andrew Beauton, Guilford, So.: Returning GameTimeCT all-state pick won the State Open championship as a freshman at the Black Hall Club in Old Lyme, firing a 1-under-par 70. Placed second in the Division I championship meet. Anthony DePaolo, Cheshire, Sr.: Runner-up in last year’s SCC championship meet. Hoping to lead the Rams to this year’s team title.
Matt Downes, St. Paul, Sr.: Two-time GameTimeCT all-state selection will be trying to earn medalist laurels at the NVL championship meet for the second straight season.
Harrison Giambattista, Killingly, Sr.: Won the ECC Open title last year. Will be an integral part in Killingly’s attempt to win a third consecutive tournament team title.
Quinn Lapinski, Portland, Jr.: Finished third in the Division III championship meet to help the Highlanders win the team championship.
Scott Petrosky, Bristol Central, Sr.: Will be a contender for the CCC medalist honors after tying for third in last season’s Division I meet and placing 11th at the State Open.
Bradley Sawka, Ellington, Sr.: Reigning
GameTimeCT State Player of the Year won last year’s Division II meet by seven strokes. Has committed to play college golf at UConn.
Reece Scott, Hand, Sr.: Two-time AllArea selection for the New Haven Register won the Walter Lowell Invite and tied for third at the Division I championship meet.
Cameron Seiffert, Killingly, Sr.: Finished third in the ECC Open and tied for third at the Division II state championship meet.
Luke Stennett, Portland, Jr.: Led the state last spring season with a 0.19 stroke differential. Two-time GameTimeCT all-state pick shared medalist laurels at both the Division III meet and the Shoreline Conference meet.
Cameron St. Pierre, Shelton, Jr.: AllSCC selection placed fourth at the league championship meet and tied for eighth at the Division I championship meet.
Ryan Willey, East Windsor, Jr.: Tied for third at last year’s State Open and tied for seventh at the Division III championship meet. Returning GameTimeCT All-State second team pick.
