Bed, Bath & Beyond plans closure of about 200 stores
Home retailer Bed, Bath & Beyond plans to close about 200 of its nearly 955 locations, without listing affected locations immediately. The New Jersey-based company has 18 Connecticut stores including locations in Danbury, Norwalk, Stamford, Brookfield, Fairfield, Guilford, Hamden, Milford, Shelton and Torrington. Between March and May, sales dropped by nearly half as stores converted to curbside pickup during the coronavirus pandemic, with the company reporting a $302 million loss for the period.
