Steven Alexander, 61, of Stamford, Connecticut passed away suddenly on Thursday, March 11, 2021. He was born in Long Branch, New Jersey on May 22, 1959 to the late Robert Alexander and Nadina Mucineks Alexander, and grew up in Falls Church, Virginia, where he moved at the age of two.

He was a graduate of George Mason High School and earned his MBA from Virginia Polytechnic Institute. At VA Tech, he met his wife of 37 years, Cynthia Barten Alexander, and together they raised their beautiful daughter Lauren. The Alexanders lived in several states along the Eastern Seabord, and settled in Stamford in 2002, where Steve resided until his death. He worked in many areas of Banking and Investment Management, and in the latter part of his career took the opportunity to live out a passion for Financial Counseling and Financial Literacy, most recently working with the military and military reserve.

Steve’s greatest love, next to his family, was helping people, especially through sharing his experiences and life challenges, as well as the importance of the 12 Step Program in his life. Steve was an eclectic audiophile, a student of Eastern Philosophy, and a lover of the sun and the ocean, with an irresistible goofy and quirky sense of humor.

Steven was a loving and supportive husband and father who always remembered that small gestures show such great love. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Steve is survived by his wife Cindy, his daughter Lauren of Boston, Massachusetts, his brother Gregg and sister-in-law Sheila of South Amboy, New Jersey, his aunt Daina Romualdi of Massachusetts and his cousins Jean, Jessica and John, along with many friends.
