TAO Asian Bistro & Lounge opening at Mohegan Sun

TAO Asian Bistro & Lounge, a 10,000 square-foot pan-Asian restaurant and lounge, plans a March 23 opening at Mohegan Sun.

The 300-seat restaurant is located off the Sky Tower’s hotel lobby. The space features a 1,600-square-foot Ink Lounge, a sushi bar, and a 16-foot-tall Quan Yin statue anchoring the main dining room.

TAO Group Hospitalit­y partner and chef Ralph Scamardell­a oversees a menu of PanAsian

fare, with specialtie­s like satay of Chilean sea bass, lobster wontons, Peking duck, crispy snapper in “sand” and its signature “tuna sashimi Pringle,” with raw tuna atop a wonton pressed into a potato chip shape.

The full menu features small plates, dim sum, sushi and sashimi, entrees from the “sea, sky and land” including steaks, chicken and fish; barbecue items like lamb yakitori and crackling pork belly; and noodle and rice dishes, like pad Thai, Hong Kong fried noo

dles and lobster fried rice. The bar will offer craft cocktails and an extensive sake menu.
