Lois (Crocco) Cammarota

-

January 30, 1939 - April 10, 2021. Lois (Crocco) Cammarota, loving mother and grandmother, passed peacefully on Saturday, April 10, 2021, to be among the angels.

Lois was born on January 30, 1939 in Stamford, CT to Gerald and Mary Crocco. She spent most of her life in Stamford, raising her two sons as a single mother. A symbol of strength and diligence, she could be found working at Lois’s Deli (Cove) and Doughnut Inn (Noroton Heights), or supporting her sons on the baseball field.

Lois was one of those individuals who had the ability to make you feel special, no matter your relation to her. Whether you were a cherished family member, a loyal customer, or a complete stranger, you would be treated with a warm smile, an endearing “Hi, honey!”, and effortless humor. She chose to approach life with a sunny outlook, and exuded joyfulness, teaching those close to her the value of generosity through her acts of kindness.

Things guaranteed to make her smile included: Frank Sinatra melodies, episodes of General Hospital, books by Janet Evanovich, and adding porcelain angels to her collection. Lois was a vivid storyteller and loved to captivate her family with tales and photographs of her early years, sure to make them laugh. Above all, she took pride in her family. “Lolo,” as she is known to those closest to her, gave the biggest bear-hug squeezes and will be remembered for her unconditional love.

Lois will be dearly missed by her son Mark, her son John and his wife Karen, her grandchildren, Alexandra, Max, Madison, and Michael, her brother Richard Crocco, and sister Patty Clince. She was preceded in death by her parents, Gerald and Mary, and her brother Jerry “Skipper”. Her family will decide on funeral services and a Celebration of Life at a later date.
