Stamford man pleads guilty to propositioning girls

STAMFORD — A city man pleaded guilty to propositioning two minor girls to have sex with him for money.

Diego Ixcotoyac, 43, entered guilty pleas on charges of commercial sexual abuse of a minor, first-degree stalking and first-degree unlawful restraint as part of a plea agreement with the state.

As a part of the agreement, Supervisory Assistant State’s Attorney Maureen Ornousky recommended that Ixcotoyac be sentenced to a 10-year prison sentence, suspended after five years.

Ixcotoyac is scheduled to be sentenced Feb. 23.

The charges stem from a March 9, 2020, incident where police were called to Richmond Hill Avenue around 3:15 p.m. on March 9, 2020, on a report of a man trying to solicit sex from two minor sisters, ages 11 and 17.

According to an affidavit, the younger girl went out on an afternoon errand to pick up some items at the corner store. About 2:40 p.m., the older sister said a man, who she identified as

Ixcotoyac, showed up at the front door holding her younger sister by the arm.

Ixcotoyac then asked the older girl if he could come in, the affidavit said. The older girl pushed the man back at which point he allegedly tried to touch the older girl. The little girl then ran into the house and went upstairs. The older girl then asked Ixcotoyac what he wanted.

He said he was looking for a friend named Antonio. The older girl told Ixcotoyac that there was no one in the house by that name and asked him numerous times to leave, the affidavit said.

The girl said Ixcotoyac would not leave and kept staring at her in a way that made her feel uncomfortable. He then said he would give her $100 or more to have sex with her and her younger sister, according to the affidavit.

Police later identified Ixcotoyac using social media. He was arrested and charged with risk of injury to a minor, home invasion, attempted commercial sexual abuse of a minor, attempted fourth-degree sexual assault and stalking.
