Here are 10 exciting boys basketball games to go check out if you have the time during this 2021-22 season:
West Haven at Notre Dame-West Haven, Dec. 16, 7 p.m.: The rematch of last year’s SCC championship final. Notre Dame handed West Haven its only loss last season.
Northwest Catholic vs. Wilbur Cross at Trinity College, Dec. 18, 6 p.m.: Two of the state’s best in an earlyseason matchup at a college venue.
East Catholic vs. Bristol Central at Mohegan Sun Arena, Dec. 20, 8 p.m.:
Bristol Central returns four starters, including 7-foot center Donovan Clingan, from a season that culminated in winning at East Catholic in overtime to win the CCC championship last March.
Hillhouse vs. Wilbur Cross at Floyd Little Athletic Center, Dec. 21, 7 p.m.:
Hillhouse is trying to bounce back after a subpar season.
Cross is trying to get the SCC championship trophy back. Elm City rivalry renewed.
Northwest Catholic at Windsor, Jan. 6, 6:45 p.m.: Was one of the better regular-season
games in the COVID-19 shortened season. Prince Samuels for Windsor, Matt Curtis and Hayden Abdullah for NWC, should be another up-and-down affair.
Windsor at East Catholic, Jan. 11, 7 p.m.: Tough stretch here for the Warriors, having to face two of the state’s best in a five-day period.
Kolbe Cathedral at Notre Dame-Fairfield, Jan. 28, 7 p.m.: Was the SWC championship game last season. Expected to be another key league showdown.
Bristol Central at Wilbur Cross (Floyd Little Athletic Center), Feb. 2, 8 p.m.: This will be a hot ticket assuming both programs come in ranked. Hillhouse vs. Windsor is the undercard (think about that for a minute).
Bristol Central vs. Windsor at XL Center, Hartford, Feb. 10, 7:30 p.m.: One of the future home floors for Clingan. Wonder how many of the Huskies’ season ticket holders might make the trip downtown?
St. Joseph at Ridgefield, Feb. 17, 7 p.m.: This game could decide the FCIAC regular-season champion.
