Simon Partyka, Valley Regional: Scored 28 points in a 48-46 loss at Xavier in the Artie Kohs Classic.

Dylan Veillette, Ridgefield: Had 33 points in an 83-62 victory over Newtown in the championsh­ip game of the inaugural Tyler Ugolyn tournament.

Ismael Castillo, Platt Tech: Grabbed 22 rebounds in Platt Tech’s 67-63 overtime victory over Bullard-Havens in Platt Tech’s Christmas tournament.

Michael Genovese, Thomaston, and Jake Chacho, Seymour: Genovese scored 29 points and Chacho had 28 in

Seymour’s 75-60 win.

Jonathan Rivera, Crosby: Posted a triple-double (27 points, 11 rebounds, 10 assists) as Crosby defeated Kennedy 97-91 in double overtime.

Angel Aviles, Derby: Scored 30 points in an 81-56 loss to St. Paul.

Tra’Shawn Reynolds, Ansonia: Poured in 32 points for the Chargers, who defeated O’Brien Tech 76-43.

— Prince Tech had its state-best, 40-game winning streak snapped on Dec. 28, 61-46 by Greenwich in Prince Tech’s holiday tournament.

Games to watch

Notre Dame-West Haven at Hand, Tuesday, 7 p.m.: Both SCC teams off to quick unbeaten starts. Hand is led by Tyler Favre, Notre Dame by Mekhi Conner and Timaury Gay.

Northwest Catholic at Windsor, Thursday, 6:45 p.m.: CCC rivals squared off in one of the best regular-season games last season — 78-74 Northwest Catholic. Now these top 10 teams square off again, this time at Windsor. Keep an eye on Matt Curtis and Hayden Abdullah from Northwest Catholic and Prince Samuels from Windsor.

Notre Dame-Fairfield at Kolbe Cathedral, Thursday, 7 p.m.:

Rematch of the SWC championsh­ip game from last season, won by Notre Dame in comefrom-behind fashion. The COVID-19 pandemic prevented these two titans from meeting during last year’s regular season.
