Edward Francis Manning

-

Edward Francis Manning , longtime resident of Stamford, CT, passed away on January 1, 2022 after a short but sad battle with Lewy Body Dementia. He was 71.

Born in Port Chester, NY, Ed was the son of Mary and Arnold Manning and brother to Priscilla Weber and Lynda Langsam. He graduated from Harrison High School and served in the US Air Force Reserve. He was a lifelong employee at PSI Industries in Northvale, NJ, starting on the assembly line and finally serving as Vice President before retiring, his self-made success was a point of humble pride.

Throughout life, Ed was a loving husband, father and grandfather who was known for his mischievous sense of humor, always finding ample opportunity for a joke, regardless of the quality. Able to fix just about anything, he was an extremely skilled DIY handyman, Ed completed countless improvement projects on the family home, revamping every square inch. He was generous with his time, always willing to lend a hand to anyone in need, no project was too tall for his heart and two hands. In retirement, Ed could be seen daily, leisurely driving around Stamford with his three Great Danes (mostly) in the car or relaxing on the deck taking care of his koi pond when not actively finding his next way to improve the lives of those around him.

He is survived by his wife Catherine Manning, children; Christopher E. Manning of North Salem, NY, Emily Manning of Fairfield, CT and Tori Manning of Brighton, MA along with his grandson Jack Taylor Manning. He was predeceased by his daughter Audrey Manning.

In lieu of flowers, please consider making a memorial donation to St Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105.
