Greenwich woman’s prison term ends in voyeurism case
STAMFORD — A Greenwich socialite who pleaded guilty to voyeurism charges after she filmed three individuals, including a minor, without their consent, was released Wednesday after serving 90 days in prison, court officials said.
Hadley Palmer, 53, had been incarcerated in the York Correctional Institution, the state prison for women in Niantic, since Feb. 4 as part of a plea agreement with state prosecutors.
Assistant State’s Attorney Daniel Cummings said Wednesday the state had stipulated in the agreement that Palmer would serve prison time before her sentencing to ensure that she served at least the minimum sentence possible.
“If it had been part of her sentence, the Department of Corrections could have cut it short and given her early release. By making it a bond raise, it assured she does all 90 days,” Cummings said.
Palmer was arrested in 2021 on charges including employing a minor in an obscene performance, conspiracy to employ a minor in an obscene performance and second-degree child pornography in 2017. On Jan. 19, she pleaded guilty to three counts of voyeurism and risk of injury to a minor, all felonies.
Under the agreement, Palmer faces a sentence of between 90 days and five years in prison and must register as a sex offender.
Palmer is scheduled to be sentenced Aug. 2.
Before she was released Wednesday, attorney Michael Meehan, who represents Palmer, asked that the court modify the conditions of her release to remove her GPS monitoring.
Meehan also asked that the state strike a condition that prohibited her from owning any cellular or electronic devices.
Cummings agreed, so long as all camera functionality on electronic devices be permanently disabled.
Although the case is cloaked in mystery, Greenwich authorities said that Palmer had “knowingly photographed, filmed and recorded” three individuals, including a minor, according to court records.
Palmer has also been involved in a contentious divorce since 2020, court records show. Hadley and Bradley Palmer were wed in New York City in 1992 and had four children together, three of whom are now young adults.
Bradley Palmer, a finance executive, is seeking sole custody of their youngest child, according to the legal filing in state Superior Court in Stamford.
They own a multimilliondollar mansion in the wealthy Belle Haven neighborhood; it was purchased in 2013 for $6.95 million and boasts seven bedrooms and five fireplaces, according to tax records at Greenwich Town Hall.
Before news of her arrest, Hadley Palmer was routinely photographed at various gala benefits around the region. Her father, Jerrold Fine, started one of the first hedge funds to operate in the financial field in Westport.
