Rita Marjorie ( Jenkins) Doucette, age 101, peacefully entered into eternal rest on May 4, 2022.

Born in Lynn, MA, September 25, 1920; Rita married her second-grade sweetheart, James Armand Doucette in 1945 (d. 1994). They started their family in Lynn and Sudbury, MA, before relocating to Stamford, CT in 1960.

Rita was the devoted mother of seven and is survived by Jacqueline and Allen Malcolm of Lyme, NH, Michele Doucette of Willimanti­c, CT, Stephen and Cece Doucette of Ashland, MA; daughter-in-law, Anne Doucette of Fairfield, CT and is predecease­d by her beloved Christine, Marc, Susan and Pamela Doucette.

Her grandchild­ren brought her much joy and laughter, thank you to Leigh and Chelsea Gauthier, Armand Gauthier and Jessica Lebrun, and Spencer Gauthier, Allison and Dr. Aaron Mancuso, Foster and Marysia Malcolm, Zoe and Julia Doucette; great-grandchild­ren, Harper, Conor, Tate, Adriana, Chase, Garrett, Cole, Brennan, Adeline, Arion, Annelise, Emilia and Zoe.

She takes with her loving memories of sister, Eleanor ( Jenkins) Wyckoff of Lynn, MA; and sisters-in-law, Ruth Jenkins and Betty Jenkins; as well as the brothers who predecease­d her, Francis Jenkins, George Jenkins, Dr. Lester Jenkins, Richard Jenkins and Roland Jenkins. “Silly Auntie Rita” also leaves behind many beloved nieces and nephews.

Rita will also be greatly missed by her dear friends and devoted caregivers at Fairview Estates in Hopkinton, MA, who treasured this centenaria­n since 2016.

Rita was an active member of Our Lady Star of the Sea Church in Stamford, CT. Ever sharp-witted and great with numbers, she spent decades developing lifelong friendship­s and earned the prestigiou­s designatio­n of Bridge Master. She also had a strong arm on the tennis court and bowling alley, was an excellent swimmer, and brought home countless blue ribbons in her years with the Stamford Garden Club.

Her legacy lives on in the clippings from her flowerbeds blooming in yards of loved ones far and wide, the many wonderful recipes she lovingly prepared over the years that continue to be enjoyed through the generation­s today, and a century's worth of joyful memories.

A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, May 11, 2022 in the SOLIMINE FUNERAL HOME, 426 Broadway (Rt. 129), Lynn at 12p.m. Burial will be in St. Jean Cemetery, Lynn. Relatives and friends are respectful­ly invited to attend. Visiting hours will be on Wednesday from 10a.m.-12p.m., prior to the Funeral Service.
