Jonathan Law athletic director V.J. Sarullo has been appointed the new athletic director at Staples High in Westport. The news was announced in a press release on Wednesday afternoon.

Sarullo also had stints as athletic director at Notre Dame-Fairfield and Sheehan in Wallingford before coming to Law in Milford. This is his 17th year as an AD in the state.

Sarullo will succeed Marty Lisevick, who will retire after 22-plus years as the Wreckers’ athletic director on Jan. 31. Sarullo’s start date is still to be determined, according to the release.

“I am very enthusiastic about V.J joining our team. This was a very comprehensive and rigorous process. Yet, V.J. rose above the field of candidates due to his lengthy successful track record, and his exemplary leadership experiences that prioritizes communication, and student success, not only on the field of play, but also in the classroom and community,” said Staples superintendent Thomas Scraice in the release.

Sarullo is currently the president of the Connecticut Association of Athletic Directors.
