GAMES TO WATCH

Conard at Newington co-op (Newington Arena), Wednesday, 4 p.m.: The rematch of the rematch: Newington beat Conard 5-1 to open the season after winning the Division III final in March. Conard has not lost in 12 games since. Newington’s only loss is to Division II Wethersfield. Fairfield at Darien (Darien Ice), Wednesday, 5 p.m.: Both teams were unbeaten until this past week; they tied at Wonderland about a month ago, with Darien coming back from two goals down in the third period. There’s one more potential meeting in a few more weeks, but we’ll see about that one.

Northwest Catholic at Farmington Valley (Avon Old Farms), Wednesday, 8 p.m.: The Generals topped top-10 Northwest Catholic in overtime in their first meeting.

St. Dominic Regional (Maine) at Notre Dame-Fairfield (Martire Family Arena), Friday, 5 p.m.: The team from literally down the block plays its first game at Sacred Heart’s new barn. St. Dom’s, coming from many, many more blocks away, will stick around to play at West Haven on Saturday afternoon.

New Canaan at Notre Dame-West Haven (Bennett), Saturday, 5 p.m.: On Wednesday, when Notre Dame faces Greenwich at Bennett at 6 p.m., it’ll be 405 days since the Green Knights lost a game to a Connecticut team: a 4-3 overtime win for New Canaan on Dec. 23, 2021. On Wednesday it’ll also be 687 days since Notre Dame’s last regulation loss to a state team: Greenwich on St. Patrick’s Day 2021.

Darien, Greenwich at LaSalle Academy (R.I.), Bishop Hendricken (R.I.), Saturday/Sunday: Nice to see this series continue. Greenwich has LaSalle on Saturday and Hendricken on Sunday; Darien has them the other way. Darien-LaSalle is set for Smithfield Municipal Rink; the other three are in Warwick at Thayer/Warburton.
