Police: Stamford man sexually assaulted, took explicit photos of 7-year-old

STAMFORD — A 47-year-old city man sexually assaulted and took explicit photos of a seven-year-old girl whom he knew, according to an arrest warrant.

Ludy Gonzalez was arrested by Stamford police on charges of third-degree illegal possession of child pornography, illegal sexual contact with a minor and risk of injury to a minor last week.

The arrest marks the second in three months for Gonzalez, who was already facing first-degree sexual assault, promoting a minor in an obscene performance and risk of injury to a minor following an arrest in November.

Both sets of charges stem from an investigation police opened in August 2022 after the seven-year-old told authorities that Gonzalez “did bad stuff to her” on multiple occasions, Officer Emily Guerra wrote in an arrest warrant.

The child told investigators that Gonzalez had come to her house and sexually assaulted her on multiple occasions, Guerra wrote.

During an interview with police, Gonzalez admitted touching the young girl and both sending explicit photos to and receiving them from the seven-year-old, according to the warrant.

Police initially arrested Gonzalez on Nov. 23, at which pointed they also seized eight cellphones, two of which were working, the warrant said.

Gonzalez was arrested again last week after police found explicit photos on those phones, which corroborated both the child and Gonzalez’s stories, Guerra wrote in the warrant.

Gonzalez was arraigned at state Superior Court in Stamford Friday afternoon, where a judge raised his bond from $500,000 to $2 million. He had not been released from custody as of Monday.

He is next scheduled to appear in court on April 4.
