Hey, Bud! We’re looking for breakfast. I know we can go to Esperanza’s, but where else opens early?

—Early riser

For basic chilaquiles or huevos rancheros, besides renowned Esperanza’s, also look to somewhere like La Bendición, known for green sauce and open at 7 a.m. daily except Sunday at 1602 NW 21st St..

Or try Los Paisanos Restaurante y Taqueria, open at 9 a.m. daily at 1446 N. Main St. It’s known for the second hottest salsa on the block — the hottest before Los Asaderos opens. Los Paisanos serves a huge menu of $1.99 tacos plus lunch and dinner platters for less than $15. The 60-year-old storefront never looks busy, but the parking’s around back.

PARIS 7TH, AVENTINO’S, PIOLA, WATERS FOR QUIET DINING

Hey, Bud! Know of any quiet restaurants where people can talk to one another without shouting across the table?

—Faithful reader

Restaurants are intentionally loud, lively and fun. It’s part of the atmosphere, but it also helps keep customers moving and tables turning over.

For somewhere quiet, the obvious answer is Paris 7th Restaurant Français, 3324 W. Seventh St., classic fine dining. Aventino’s Italian, 5800 Lovell Ave., is usually quiet, and so is Piola Italian Restaurant & Garden, 3700 Mattison Ave. At lunch, I’d say Waters Seafood, 301 Main St.
