Impact golden at Tupelo Invitational

-

Impact Football Club 05 Green boys soccer team coached by Kase Kingery were golden at the Adidas Invitational in Tupelo recently.

Tied for first place after round robin play, an extra championship penalty kick shootout decided the division championship.

The match was decided after IFC made its first four penalty kicks, after the JFC Wolves from Jackson, Tenn., only made one.

Playing in the U12 boys Predator (gold) bracket, the Starkville based club team had a 4-0 shutout victory over Tupelo Futbol Club, and throttled DeSoto County 05 by a 5-1 score before settling for a 2-2 tie against the Jackson Futbol Club Wolves, forcing the PK shootout.

Director of coaching Phil Rose was pleased with the effort by the select team from Starkville.

Club president Chris Driskoll thanked all sponsors of Starkville Soccer and IFC including platinum sponsors Starkville Radiology and Callaway Orthodontics. He said without support from the platinum and team sponsors the club could not promote scholarships and the high level of training offered in Starkville.
