Infant in serious condition after early morning wreck

An early morning vehicle wreck resulted in an infant being airlifted to Jackson on Friday. The Starkville Police Department said the collision only involved one vehicle and occurred at approximat­ely 9 a.m. at the intersecti­on of Highway 25 and Reed Road.

Three other occupants of the vehicle were treated for injuries at OCH Regional Medical Center and released on Friday. The identities of the occupants and infant have not been made public at this time.

SPD said the infant is in serious condition.

The collision is currently being investigat­ed by SPD, who did not release details about what spurred the wreck.
