The Around Town calendar is a free service offered by the Starkville Daily News. The calendars runs daily as space allows. ◆ Alcoholics Anonymous — Alcoholics Anonymous will now meet every Saturday at 10 a.m., at St. Joseph Catholic Church.

◆ Casserole Kitchen — The Episcopal Church of the Resurrecti­on hosts a casserole kitchen every Saturday at Parish hall at 11:30 a.m.

◆ Meadowview Garage Sale — A church-wide Garage Sale will be held at Meadowview Baptist Church, 300 Linden Circle in Starkville, Saturday, April 29th from 6 AM until... Proceeds will go to fund summer foreign mission trips to Guatemala and Haiti

◆ Vet School Yard Sale — The senior class at Mississipp­i state vet school will be having a moving, clean house, a little bit of everything yard sale. It will be at the wise center (vet school), 240 Wise Center Drive, April 29th 8-2pm. The entire parking lot will be blocked off of people to set up for the yard sale

◆ United We Read Giveaway Day — The Giveaway Day is April 29th at OCH Regional Medical Center from 10:00 to 2:00. Text books, encycloped­ias and dictionari­es excluded. ◆ On the Grill at Parker-McGill — P arker-McGill will have Brigade FMX (Freestyle Motorcross Extreme) at the dealership signing autographs on April 28 and preforming 4 stunt shows on April 29. We will have free food as well. The food will be an ongoing thing every weekend and we are calling it “On the Grill at Parker-McGill”

◆ Western Oktibbeha County Singing Convention — The Western Oktibbeha County Singing Convention will be held on April 29 at 5:00 p.m. and April 30, at 10:00 a.m. Speaker will be Bishop James Austin from True Vine M.B. ◆ DAR Luncheon — The DAR Luncheon will be held May 6 at 10:30 a.m. at the Starkville Country Club. Reservatio­ns are required and the cost is $20

◆ 48th Annual Freedom Awards Banquet — The Officer of the NAACP Oktibbeha County Branch will host the 48th Annual Freedom Awards Banquet May 6 at 6:30 p.m. at the Travis Outlaw Center. ◆ Walking Trail—Adaton United Methodist Church has establishe­d a quarter-mile walking/jogging trail near the church, located at 303 Reed Road., West-Starkville. The path is accessible daily from dawn to dusk. No pets or wheeled vehicles allowed on the trail

◆ Prayers with the Songs of Taize—Prayers with the Songs of Taizé is held at the Episcopal Church of the Resurrecti­on the first Sunday of each month at 6 p.m. The service includes candleligh­t, singing, prayers, readings, periods of silence, and lasts about 45 minutes

◆ Starkville Healing Rooms—Starkville Healing Rooms meets from 6:30-8:30 p.m. on Mondays at the Sportsplex. It provide a loving, safe and confidenti­al environmen­t where you can come to receive prayer for physical healing. No appoinment necessary.
