The Around Town calendar is a free service offered by the Starkville Daily News. The calendars runs daily as space allows. Announceme­nts should be submitted via e-mail to life@starkville­dailynews.com by 2 p.m. the day prior to publicatio­n and be no more than 50 words in length. ◆ Starkville Strings School Violin Recital — Starkville Strings School presents a violin recital by Katie Chung, 8, and Ms. Sarah Jenkins, piano, on May 6th, at 3:30 PM, at Giles Auditorium (Architectu­re Building) on the MSU campus. The Episcopal Church will have, instead, a concert to dedicate the new organ at 6:00 p.m. on May 7. The concert will feature Walt Strony, one of America’s premier concert organists. ◆ Prayers with the Songs of Taize—Prayers with the Songs of Taizé is held at the Episcopal Church of the Resurrecti­on the first Sunday of each month at 6 p.m. The service includes candleligh­t, singing, prayers, readings, periods of silence, and lasts about 45 minutes
