The Around Town calendar is a free service offered by the Starkville Daily News. The calendars runs daily as space allows. Announcements should be submitted via e-mail to life@starkvilledailynews.com by 2 p.m. the day prior to publication and be no more than 50 words in length. Religious events will be listed Saturdays on the Faith page. Recurring events will run on Sundays only. One-time events will run Monday through Friday.

◆ Class of 1961 Reunion — The reunion will be held May 19 to May 21. May 21, Pastor Ken Smith, class president, will lead a memorial service for deceased class members and provide an inspirational message at a breakfast
◆ Summer Camp Registration Open — Registration open for our June/July 2017 summer camps at Starkville Academy. We will offer a variety of camps for students of all ages and skill levels. ◆ Free Basic Computer Class — On May 1, 15 & 22 Adults are invited to gain knowledge while working spreadsheets, modify columns, rows & cells, creating simple formulas, manipulating data, sorting and filtering. ◆ Alcoholics Anonymous — Alcoholics Anonymous will now meet every Saturday at 10 a.m., at St. Joseph Catholic Church
◆ Casserole Kitchen — The Episcopal Church of the Resurrection hosts a casserole kitchen every Saturday at Parish hall at 11:30 a.m.
◆ On the Grill at Parker-McGill — Parker-McGill Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram will host a weekly “On the Grill” every Saturday. Free food will be provided and visitors can meet the Parker-McGill staff

◆ Canoe Day — Canoeing will be held on Noxubee Refuge's Bluff Lake on Saturday May 20 from 9 am until 3 pm. Canoes, kayaks, paddles, and life jackets will be available free of charge. Call 323-5548 for more information

◆ Plant Sale — A Plant Sale will be held 7:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the Starkville Community Market. This is the first of two to be scheduled by the Oktibbeha County Volunteers. A wide array of plants including annuals, perennials, herbs, etc. will be available. Sale proceeds will support scholarship awards
◆ Annual Membership Meeting — The Memorial Gardens Cemetery will have its annual membership meeting on May 20 at 9 a.m. All members are encouraged to attend

◆ Geneology Fair — Mississippi State University Libraries will host E.O. Templeton Jr. History and Genealogy Fair on June 3, from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. To attend is free, but space is limited.
