AROUND TOWN ANNOUNCEMENT POLICIES
The Around Town calendar is a free service offered by the Starkville Daily News. The calendars runs daily as space allows. Announcements should be submitted via e-mail to life@ starkvilledailynews.com by 2 p.m. the day prior to publication and be no more than 50 words in length. Religious events will be listed Saturdays on the Faith page. Recurring events will run in Around Town on Sundays only. One-time events will run as usual in Around Town Monday through Friday.

◆ Alcoholics Anonymous — Alcoholics Anonymous will now meet every Saturday at 10 a.m., at St. Joseph Catholic Church.
◆ Casserole Kitchen — The Episcopal Church of the Resurrection hosts a casserole kitchen every Saturday at Parish hall at 11:30 a.m.
◆ On the Grill at Parker-McGill — Parker-McGill Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram will host a weekly “On the Grill” every Saturday. Free food will be provided and visitors can meet the Parker-McGill staff
◆ Plant Sale — A Plant Sale will be held 7:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the Starkville Community Market. This is the second of two sales scheduled by the Oktibbeha Master Gardeners and interns. A wide array of plants including annuals, perennials, herbs, etc. will be available. Sale proceeds will support scholarship awards
◆ UCAC Meeting — UCAC will meet May 27th at 8am at the American Legion Post located at 3327 Station Rd in Starkville Ms. Agricultural andsmall business development opportunities will be discussed for more information contact Orlando Trainer at 662 769-0071
◆ Coco Meeting — The May monthly meeting of the Council of Community organizations will be May 27 at 10:00 am. The meeting is open to the public.
◆ Praise and Worship Night — Original Gospel Tones Praise and Worship Night will be held May 27 6PM at Liberty Church A House of God… 957 Sunset Drive/Old Hwy 182. ◆ Geneology Fair — Mississippi State University Libraries will host E.O. Templeton Jr. History and Genealogy Fair on June 3, from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. To attend is free, but space is limited. There is an optional $8 lunch option, catered by Sweet Peppers Deli, that is available. Lunch can be paid for at the conference with cash or check
◆ COCO Awards Program — The annual awards program sponsored by Council of Community Organizations (COCO) will be held on Saturday June 3, 2017 at the Center. The program will start at 6 pm features Starkville High School JROTC and the announcement of the scholarship winners. The program is open to the public
◆ Summer Reading Program Registration— Summer Reading programs at the Starkville Public Library are getting ready to roll from June 5 to July 28, with the theme “Build a Better World”. June 5 - 10 is registration from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
◆ Sand Creek Chapel Male Choir Anniversary — Sand Creek Chapel Missionary Baptist Church located at 3818 Rockhill Rd, will have its Male Choir 18th anniversary programs on Saturday June 10th at 6pm and Sunday June 11th at 3pm. ◆ Walking Trail—Adaton United Methodist Church has established a quarter-mile walking/jogging trail near the church, located at 303 Reed Road., WestStarkville. The path is accessible daily from dawn to dusk. No pets or wheeled vehicles allowed on the trail
◆ Prayers with the Songs of Taize— Prayers with the Songs of Taizé is held at the Episcopal Church of the Resurrection the first Sunday of each month at 6 p.m. The service includes candlelight, singing, prayers, readings, periods of silence, and lasts about 45 minutes
◆ Starkville Healing Rooms—Starkville Healing Rooms meets from 6:30-8:30 p.m. on Mondays at the Sportsplex.
