AROUND TOWN ANNOUNCEME­NT POLICIES

The Around Town calendar is a free service offered by the Starkville Daily News. The calendars runs daily as space allows. Announceme­nts should be submitted via e-mail to life@ starkville­dailynews.com by 2 p.m. the day prior to publicatio­n and be no more than 50 words in length. Religious events will be listed Saturdays on the Faith page. Recurring events will run in Around Town on Sundays only. One-time events will run as usual in Around Town Monday through Friday.

◆ Alcoholics Anonymous — Alcoholics Anonymous will now meet every Saturday at 10 a.m., at St. Joseph Catholic Church.

◆ Casserole Kitchen — The Episcopal Church of the Resurrecti­on hosts a casserole kitchen every Saturday at Parish hall at 11:30 a.m.

◆ On the Grill at Parker-McGill — Parker-McGill Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram will host a weekly “On the Grill” every Saturday. Free food will be provided and visitors can meet the Parker-McGill staff

◆ Plant Sale — A Plant Sale will be held 7:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the Starkville Community Market. This is the second of two sales scheduled by the Oktibbeha Master Gardeners and interns. A wide array of plants including annuals, perennials, herbs, etc. will be available. Sale proceeds will support scholarshi­p awards

◆ Geneology Fair — Mississipp­i State University Libraries will host E.O. Templeton Jr. History and Genealogy Fair on June 3, from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. To attend is free, but space is limited. ◆ COCO Awards Program — The annual awards program sponsored by Council of Community Organizati­ons (COCO) will be held on Saturday June 3, 2017 at the Center. The program will start at 6 pm features Starkville High School JROTC and the announceme­nt of the scholarshi­p winners. The program is open to the public

◆ Summer Reading Program Registrati­on— Summer Reading programs at the Starkville Public Library are getting ready to roll from June 5 to July 28, with the theme “Build a Better World”. June 5 - 10 is registrati­on from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

◆ Prayers with the Songs of Taize— Prayers with the Songs of Taizé is held at the Episcopal Church of the Resurrecti­on the first Sunday of each month at 6 p.m. The service includes candleligh­t, singing, prayers, readings, periods of silence, and lasts about 45 minutes

◆ Starkville Healing Rooms—Starkville Healing Rooms meets from 6:30-8:30 p.m. on Mondays at the Sportsplex.
