AROUND TOWN ANNOUNCEMENT POLICIES
The Around Town calendar is a free service offered by the Starkville Daily News. The calendars runs daily as space allows. Announcements should be submitted via e-mail to life@starkvilledailynews.com by 2 p.m. the day prior to publication and be no more than 50 words in length. Religious events will be listed Saturdays on the Faith page. Recurring events will run in Around Town on Sundays only. One-time events will run as usual in Around Town Monday through Friday.

◆ Alcoholics Anonymous — Alcoholics Anonymous will now meet every Saturday at 10 a.m., at St. Joseph Catholic Church.
◆ Casserole Kitchen — The Episcopal Church of the Resurrection hosts a casserole kitchen every Saturday at Parish hall at 11:30 a.m.
◆ On the Grill at Parker-McGill — Parker-McGill Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram will host a weekly “On the Grill” every Saturday. Free food will be provided and visitors can meet the Parker-McGill staff
◆ SOCSD Summer Feeding Schedule at Henderson — At Henderson Ward Stewart Cafeteria, June 5 —July 14, breakfast will be served 7:45 am - 9:00 am and lunch will be served 11 am - 12:30 pm. For more information, contact Prudie Shumpert at 3244122. Students 18 and under eat free. Adults accompanying students may purchase a meal. Adult Breakfast: $1.80; Adult Lunch: $3.15

◆ Summer Reading Program Registration— Summer Reading programs at the Starkville Public Library are getting ready to roll from June 5 to July 28, with the theme “Build a Better World”. June 5 - 10 is registration from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
◆ Boys II Men Empowerment Summit — MAN UP! Save Our Sons June 10. Hands-on workshops (how to tie a necktie, how to engage law enforcement, professional dress, Respect, Goal Setting, GOD, Girls and Gold), life skills, empowering sessions will begin 10am-12noon at First Baptist Longview Church “Croft Center.” Lunch will be provided. Boys ages 6 and up are welcomed to attend
◆ Sand Creek Chapel Male Choir Anniversary — Sand Creek Chapel Missionary Baptist Church located at 3818 Rockhill Rd, will have its Male Choir 18th anniversary programs on Saturday June 10th at 6pm and Sunday June 11th at 3pm. ◆ Noxubee Paper Cutting Workshop — Noxubee Refuge's Artist in Residence, Gillian Furniss, will hold a paper cutting workshop June 17, 9 am to 3:30 pm for youth 12 to 18, at the Environmental Education Center on the Refuge. Canoeing, hiking, sketching, and paper cutting will be part of the workshop. Space is limited so please call 323-5548 to register

◆ Prayers with the Songs of Taize— Prayers with the Songs of Taizé is held at the Episcopal Church of the Resurrection the first Sunday of each month at 6 p.m. The service includes candlelight, singing, prayers, readings, periods of silence, and lasts about 45 minutes
◆ Starkville Healing Rooms—Starkville Healing Rooms meets from 6:30-8:30 p.m. on Mondays at the Sportsplex.
