Starkville-Oktibbeha Consolidated School District parents are encouraged to register their children early for the upcoming school year.

For the second year, registration is completely online. Parents and guardians of returning students will use PowerSchool to access the required forms and verify information. Instructions for logging into PowerSchool can be found on the district’s website. Proof of residency is required.

Parents of new students are required to provide a copy of their child’s birth certificate and immunization records. Seventh graders will also be required to provide an updated immunization form for the tetanus, diphtheria and pertussis (TDAP) vaccine. First time Armstrong Middle School and Starkville High School students must also complete a course selection form.

Sudduth Elementary School Principal Elizabeth Mosley said registering sooner was important to administrators, so they could get a rough idea of their school’s numbers and assign students to classes accordingly. Parents who have completed all registration may pick up their students’ teacher assignment card and class schedule at Sudduth from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on July 20 and July 27, and from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. on July 21 and July 28. Computers will be available during these times for

parents needing to register their children. Parents of West Elementary students will be able to pick up teacher assignment cards at the West Elementary office during these dates.

A makeup registration day is scheduled for July 31 at the students’ individual schools.

“It’ll be a centralized registration here in our gym,” Mosley said. “Any child you have at different schools, you can come here and do it all in one place.”

School PTOs and other district organizations will also have T-shirts for sale at Sudduth. These can be worn to school under the district’s dress code.
