The Around Town calendar is a free service offered by the Starkville Daily News. The calendars runs daily as space allows. Announceme­nts should be submitted via e-mail to life@starkville­dailynews.com by 2 p.m. the day prior to publicatio­n and be no more than 50 words in length. Religious events will be listed Saturdays on the Faith page. Recurring events will run in Around Town on Sundays only. One-time events will run as usual in Around Town Monday through Friday.

◆ Alcoholics Anonymous — Alcoholics Anonymous will now meet every Saturday at 10 a.m., at St. Joseph Catholic Church.

◆ Casserole Kitchen — The Episcopal Church of the Resurrecti­on hosts a casserole kitchen every Saturday at Parish hall at 11:30 a.m.

◆ On the Grill at Parker-McGill — Parker-McGill Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram will host a weekly “On the Grill” every Saturday. Free food will be provided and visitors can meet the Parker-McGill staff

◆ SOCSD Summer Feeding Schedule at Henderson — At Henderson Ward Stewart Cafeteria, June 5 —July 14, breakfast will be served 7:45 am - 9:00 am and lunch will be served 11 am - 12:30 pm. For more informatio­n, contact Prudie Shumpert at 324-4122. Students 18 and under eat free. Adults accompanyi­ng students may purchase a meal. Adult Breakfast: $1.80; Adult Lunch: $3.15

◆ Canoe Day — Noxubee Refuge will hold a canoe day on Bluff Lake on July 15 from 9 am until 3 pm. Canoes, kayaks, paddles, and life jackets will be available free of charge. Call 323-5548 for more informatio­n

◆ Friends of the Refuge Nature Store — The Nature Store, located in the Noxubee Refuge Visitor Center, will hold a clearance sale on July 15 from 10 am until 4 pm. T shirts, hats, and nature related items will be available

◆ NewBellZio­n Friends and Family Day — NewBellZio­n United Methodist Church located at 3743 Highway 25 South, will be having our Friends and Family Program on July 16 at 3:00 p.m. The guest speaker will be Rev. ◆ Summer Revival at Griffin Chapel — Everyone is invited to Griffin Chapel United Methodist Church, July 1618. The service on July 16 will start at 6:00pm, and services on July 17 and 18 at 7:00pm. ◆ Walking Trail—Adaton United Methodist Church has establishe­d a quarter-mile walking/jogging trail near the church, located at 303 Reed Road., West-Starkville. The path is accessible daily from dawn to dusk. No pets or wheeled vehicles allowed on the trail

◆ Prayers with the Songs of Taize—Prayers with the Songs of Taizé is held at the Episcopal Church of the Resurrecti­on the first Sunday of each month at 6 p.m. The service includes candleligh­t, singing, prayers, readings, periods of silence, and lasts about 45 minutes

◆ Starkville Healing Rooms—Starkville Healing Rooms meets from 6:308:30 p.m. on Mondays at the Sportsplex. It provide a loving, safe and confidenti­al environmen­t where you can come to receive prayer for physical healing. No appoinment necessary.
