Mr. William “Bill” Shurden, 61, passed away surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, July 25, 2017, at his residence in Conroe, Texas. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, July 29, 2017, at Friendship Baptist Church in Sturgis, Mississipp­i, with Rev. Dan Robertson officiatin­g. Visitation will be the day of the service from 9 a.m. until service time at the church. Interment will follow in Craig Springs Cemetery.

Bill was born February 13, 1956, to Joe W. Shurden, Sr. and Gladys Mae Massey Wiley. He was a Field Inspector for Benchmark Engineerin­g. Bill, an avid Mississipp­i State fan, loved his Bulldogs.

Bill is survived by his wife, Teresa Boddie Shurden, of Conroe, Texas; two sons, Devon Shurden of Houston, Texas, and Dalton Shurden of Brandon, Mississipp­i; his parents, Gladys Wiley and husband, Clarence; and Joe W. Shurden, Sr. and wife, Irene, all of Starkville, Mississipp­i; brothers, Joe “Jaybird” Shurden, Jr. and wife, Suzie, also of Starkville; Bobby Shurden and wife, Donna, of Gulfport, Mississipp­i; Don Shurden and wife, Lauren, of Hattiesbur­g, Mississipp­i; and Mark Shurden and wife, Angela, of Conroe, Texas; his step-children, William Briddon and wife, Nicole, of Huntsville, Texas; Aaron Boddie of Conroe, Texas; and Brianna Boddie of Gloversvil­le, New York; step-brother, Charles McClellan and wife, Regina, of Mathiston, Mississipp­i; step-sisters, Teresa Kelly and husband, James; and Barbara Hamby and husband, Bobby; and step-sister-in-law, Cindy Wiley all of West Point, Mississipp­i; step-granddaugh­ter, Hunter Belle of Gloversvil­le, New York; and many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
