AROUND TOWN ANNOUNCEME­NT POLICIES

The Around Town calendar is a free service offered by the Starkville Daily News. The calendars runs daily as space allows. Announceme­nts should be submitted via e-mail to life@ starkville­dailynews.com by 2 p.m. the day prior to publicatio­n and be no more than 50 words in length. Religious events will be listed Saturdays on the Faith page. Recurring events will run in Around Town on Sundays only. One-time events will run as usual in Around Town Monday through Friday.

◆ Alcoholics Anonymous — Alcoholics Anonymous will now meet every Saturday at 10 a.m., at St. Joseph Catholic Church.

◆ Casserole Kitchen — The Episcopal Church of the Resurrecti­on hosts a casserole kitchen every Saturday at Parish hall at 11:30 a.m.

◆ On the Grill at Parker-McGill — Parker-McGill Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram will host a weekly “On the Grill” every Saturday. Free food will be provided and visitors can meet the Parker-McGill staff

◆ Chick-fil-A Stuffs the Bus — July 29, Chick-fil-A is partnering with the Starkville Junior Auxiliary on its annual “Stuff the Bus” school supply drive. From 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., Chickfil-A Starkville team members will receive donations of school supplies that will be distribute­d to children who need them

◆ School Supply Giveaway — A school supply giveaway will take place July 29 at 10 a.m. at NewBellZio­n UMC, 3743 Hwy 25 South

◆ Back to School Seminar — New Bethel MB Church will have a back to school informatio­n day July 29, 10:00a.m. to noon, to provide informatio­n to parents with children in school and those that are getting ready to graduate on subject area testing and how it effects the students and other beneficial informatio­n. ◆ Western Oktibbeha County Singing Convention — The Western Oktibbeha County Singing Convention will convene on July 29 at 5:00 p.m. and conclude on July 30 at 10:00 a.m. The Convention will be held at Union Hill M. ◆ COCO Monthly Meeting — The COCO monthly meeting will be held July 29 at 3 p.m. The meeting is open to the public

◆ The Dog Paddle — On August 12 from 9 a.m. to noon Oktibbeha County Humane Society will host its seventh annual Dog Paddle at Moncrief Pool. OCHS will open the pool to all the dogs of Starkville for an entrance fee. The fee will contribute to the spay and neuter fund, which helps decrease animal overpopula­tion
