UNWINE DOWNTOWN

-

unWINE Downtown is an event that pairs evening-time retail shopping with wine tasting. The GSDP hosts three unWINE Downtown events every year, but the fall event is the most popular. This year’s fall unWINE Downtown is scheduled for Nov. 3, and tickets will be sold at $20 a piece.

Prather said both unWINE events of 2017 have sold out before the event, so participants are encouraged to buy tickets ahead of time to reserve their glasses.

CHRISTMAS OPEN HOUSE/ COOKIES WITH SANTA

“Christmas Open House is the weekend we kick off our Christmas shopping,” Prather said. “Our retailers all over Starkville open on Sundays. They all have their windows decorated and they put out their Christmas goods and merchandise and it kicks off our Christmas season.”

While shops around downtown have promotions and participate in the event on Nov. 12, the GSDP hosts Cookies with Santa. Parents can bring their children to the GSDP and take pictures with Santa for $10 per photo.

STARKVILLE COMMUNITY CHRISTMAS PARADE

Starkville’s annual Christmas Parade will begin at 6 p.m. on Nov. 27. The Famous Maroon Band, MSU cheerleaders and floats created by local businesses and organizations will march down Main Street to celebrate the holiday.

HOLIDAY BAZAAR

A two-day arts and crafts bazaar at The Mill will begin Nov. 29 and end Nov. 30.

“The Holiday Bazaar is kind of like a festival but it is indoors,” Prather said. “We have a juried selection of about 100 vendors and it is a twoday event to shop.”

This year is Starkville’s 45th annual bazaar. This event is open to the public and vendors who are interested may contact Prather at the GSDP for more information.
