AROUND TOWN ANNOUNCEME­NT POLICIES

The Around Town calendar is a free service offered by the Starkville Daily News. The calendars runs daily as space allows. Announceme­nts should be submitted via e-mail to life@starkville­dailynews.com by 2 p.m. the day prior to publicatio­n and be no more than 50 words in length. Religious events will be listed Saturdays on the Faith page. Recurring events will run in Around Town on Sundays only. One-time events will run as usual in Around Town Monday through Friday.

◆ Alcoholics Anonymous — Alcoholics Anonymous will now meet every Saturday at 10 a.m., at St. Joseph Catholic Church.

◆ Casserole Kitchen — The Episcopal Church of the Resurrecti­on hosts a casserole kitchen every Saturday at Parish hall at 11:30 a.m.

◆ On the Grill at Parker-McGill — Parker-McGill Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram will host a weekly “On the Grill” every Saturday. Free food will be provided and visitors can meet the Parker-McGill staff

◆ Audobon Field Trip — Audubon Field Trip. The Oktibbeha Audubon Society will hold a field trip on August 5 on Noxubee Refuge. Meet at the Refuge Visitor Center at 8 am. The public is invited

◆ NARFE Sales Booth — The National Active and Retired Federal Employees Associatio­n (NARFE) will have a booth in the Home, Lawn, and Garden Sale at the Sportsplex Aug. 5 (9:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m.) All Booth proceeds will go toward Alzheimer's research

◆ Piney Grove Sister2Sis­ter Brunch — Piney Grove, Columbus will have their Sister2Sis­ter Brunch Aug. 12 at 11am. Our Guest Speaker will be Minister Sherry Hathorn of KVIC. Health Awareness speakers are LaTossia Clark and Ashley Gilkey. M.E. Reed, Pastor

◆ The Dog Paddle — On August 12 from 9 a.m. to noon Oktibbeha County Humane Society will host its seventh annual Dog Paddle at Moncrief Pool. OCHS will open the pool to all the dogs of Starkville for an entrance fee. The fee will contribute to the spay and neuter fund, which helps decrease animal overpopula­tion

◆ The In-Time Conference — August 12 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. the Light Outreach of Holiness Temple will host various speakers for its conference. The public is invited to attend at 104 Watson Rd.

◆ Church Revival — The Light Outreach of Holiness Temple's revival will be Aug. 7-12 at 7p.m. Prophet Conley, pastor of Breakthoug­h Harvest Church in Chicago, will team up with Pastor Mary Meeks of Bethesda Outreach Ministries in Gay, Indiana. ◆ New Service at First Baptist — First Baptist Church of Starkville will be launching a 4 p.m. service on Aug. 13 for those that currently are nunable to come on Sunday morning. ◆ Prayers with the Songs of Taize—Prayers with the Songs of Taizé is held at the Episcopal Church of the Resurrecti­on the first Sunday of each month at 6 p.m. The service includes candleligh­t, singing, prayers, readings, periods of silence, and lasts about 45 minutes

◆ Starkville Healing Rooms—Starkville Healing Rooms meets from 6:30-8:30 p.m. on Mondays at the Sportsplex.
