Choctaw County gets 49-0 victory

CHOCTAW – It wasn’t the best night for football as far as weather conditions were concerned Thursday night.
For the Choctaw County Chargers, the couldn’t have been much better.
Choctaw County made the most of a windy and rainy night in Neshoba County and defeated the Choctaw Central Warriors 49-0.
The Chargers scored two quick touchdowns in the first quarter to get a 14-0 lead as quarterback Austin Telano found Rakeim Ashford for a score at the 9:24 mark, then Laterriion McBride had a touchdown run with 6:33 remaining.
Telano closed the first quarter with a touchdown run and Amerious Brown added the two-point conversion as Choctaw County increased its lead to 22-0.
In the second quarter, Isaiah Hannah broke a run down to the 1-yard line for the Chargers, then Kaleb Nichols scored the touchdown with 5:47 showing on the clock. Choctaw County held a 28-0 advantage at halftime.
The Chargers put the game out of reach in the third quarter with touchdown runs by Brown, Telano and Tyler Holman. Isreal Whitmore ran in a two-point conversion after Telano’s touchdown and the margin stretched to 49-0.
There was a running clock in the second half. Choctaw County (2-1) travels to Caledonia on September 8. result
