The Around Town calendar is a free service offered by the Starkville Daily News. The calendars runs daily as space allows. Announcements should be submitted via e-mail to life@starkvilledailynews.com by 2 p.m. the day prior to publication and be no more than 50 words in length. Religious events will be listed Saturdays on the Faith page. Recurring events will run on Sundays only. One-time events will run Monday through Friday.

◆ Annual Punt, Pass, & Kick Contest — The contest is is the morning of Sept. 23 at East Webster High School football field. Girls and boys aged 6 through 15 (before 12/31/17) are eligible. Parent signatures & child’s birth certificate must accompany registration. Tennis shoes; no cleats. No entry fee for participants or spectators.
