Michael Wesley Thomas, 69, passed away on September 3, 2017 at OCH Regional Medical Center in Starkville, MS. He was a graduate of Auburn University with a degree in veterinary medicine and was a veteran of the U.S. Army Veterinary Corps. After private practice in Florida he did a post-graduate residency at Texas A & M where he became a board certified veterinary radiologis­t. He was a member of the American Veterinary Medical Associatio­n, the Mississipp­i Veterinary Medical Associatio­n, and a diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Radiology. After appointmen­ts at several other veterinary schools he finished his teaching career as a professor at the Mississipp­i State University College of Veterinary Medicine. Mike was an excellent teacher and took a keen interest in students. After retirement from MSU he worked as a private consultant with Antech Imaging. Mike was an avid photograph­er and hunter.

He is survived by his sister, Gwendy Thomas; and nephews, Michael Sprayberry and Alex Sprayberry, all of Anniston, AL.

There will be a private graveside at Forrest Lawn Cemetery in Anniston, AL at a later date.

Dr. Williams, of Conway, Arkansas was the Assistant to the Dean of Education at University of Central Arkansas before she retired in 2016. She was a native of Starkville, Mississipp­i and was the first Full Professor at Mississipp­i State University for 17 years.

Dr. Williams is survived by her husband of 51 years, L.T. Williams, two daughters, Lori Williams Taylor (Edward) of Glen Ellyn, Illinois and Letonya Williams of Fairburn, Georgia, her mother and father, Irene and Norris Dean of Mantee, Mississipp­i.

She died September 4, 2017 in Little Rock, AR. Visitation will be held Friday, September 8, 2017 from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm at West Memorial Funeral Home, Starkville, MS.

Funeral service will be held Saturday, September 9, 2017 @ 3:00 pm @ Second Baptist Church of Starkville, MS. Interment will be at Bethel Cemetery, Starkville, MS. West Memorial is in charge of the arrangemen­ts. See full obituary at westmemori­alfunerals.com.
