She was talented in the arts and had just begun to pursue a degree in art at Mississipp­i State University. Karleigh, her parents, and siblings are member of Crosspoint, A Southern Baptist Church in Starkville, MS.

Survivors are her parents, James H. and Cynthia Buchanan Harfst; her older sister, Amanda; and her younger brother, Ryan.

Also surviving are her maternal grandparen­ts, Dottie R. and Gerald Buchanan of Clinton, MS; paternal grandfathe­r, Dennis Lee Harfst of Columbus, MS; and aunts, Laurie Harfst Hickey and Donna Buchanan Lucas.

Karleigh was preceded in death by her paternal grandmothe­r, Eugenia Brown House Harfst; and aunt, Kay B. Burlison.

Karleigh's family wishes to express our sincere appreciati­on to Drs. Herrington and Washington and the staff of Batson Children's Memorial Hospital in Jackson for their tireless efforts and compassion during her treatments.

Visitation is scheduled for Friday, September 22, 2017 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Welch Funeral Home in Starkville, MS. Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, September 23, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at Adaton Baptist Church in Starkville, MS. Rev. Scott Cappleman will conduct the service. Burial will be in Memorial Garden Park Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Batson Children's Hospital, 2500 N. State St., Jackson, MS 39216 or charity of the donor's choice.

Mrs. Overcash was born on October 6, 1928 in Chickasaw County, MS to David Columbus and Sallie Gann Griffin. She was a resident of Countrywoo­d Plantation Assisted Living in Mantachie. She was a member of Macedonia Methodist Church in Houston, MS.

Funeral Service will be at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, September 23, 2017 at Macedonia Methodist Church with Bro. Steve Lampkin officiatin­g.

Burial will be at Macedonia Cemetery in Houston, MS. Houston Funeral Home will be in charge of the arrangemen­ts. Survivors include her son,, Earl (Vickie) Brown of Houlka and two daughters, Ruby (Tommy) Brogan of Rossville, TN, and Kaye (Ray) Webster of Houston; one son-in-law, Al Clemons of Rienzi, MS; one step-son, Stephen (Harriet) Overcash of Charlotte, NC; 9 grandchild­ren, David (Maya) Brown, Lisa Hosford, Lee Clemons, Amy (Matt) Wilson, Tara (Dave) Adams, Michelle White, Michael Webster, Katie (Clarke) Rodgers, Tyler (Kim) Overcash; 10 greatgrand­children, Christophe­r (Paige) Brown, Jon Hunter Hudson ,Ryan and Natalie Wilson, Zulamae Adams, Allyson (Phillip) Hays, Allyssa (Alex) Smith, Harley Webster, Claire and Olivia Overcash; one great-great grandchild, Jaycee Livingston; one sister, Joyce (Gerald) Lewis; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Lorene Overcash is preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Linda Clemons; two husbands, John H. Brown and J.P. Overcash; four sisters and three brothers.

Pallbearer­s will be David Griffin, Grant Griffin, Roger Finn, Bruce Walters, Tim Hicks and Kevin Lewis.

Visitation will be Friday, September 22, 2017 from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. at Houston Funeral Home, and at Macedonia Methodist Church from 1:00 P.M. until time of service on Saturday, September 23, 2017.
