PUMKINPALOOZA
pep rally led by Mississippi State University athletes.
“This is our eighth year to have Pumpkinpalooza downtown on Main Street,” GSDP Special Events Coordinator Paige Watson said. “This year we’ll have the men and women’s basketball teams as well as cheerleaders, coach Vic Schaefer and coach Ben Howland.”
Models from the MSU Fashion Board, a student organization for people interested in fashion, retail and merchandising, will be posing as manikins in store-front windows, modeling clothes for Main Street stores and boutiques.
Pumpkinpalooza began as an event geared toward bringing more shoppers to Main Street, but Watson said it has grown over the years. The free event is open to the
public and children can come in costume to trick-or-treat. Pumpkins and mums will be for sale.
“I’m looking forward to it,” Watson said. “I hope that everyone who comes really enjoys it and it is, as it always has been, as a great display of our Main Street.”
