The Around Town calendar is a free service offered by the Starkville Daily News. The calendars runs daily as space allows. Announceme­nts should be submitted via e-mail to life@starkville­dailynews.com by 2 p.m. the day prior to publicatio­n and be no more than 50 words in length. Religious events will be listed Saturdays on the Faith page. Recurring events will run on Sundays only. One-time events will run Monday through Friday.

◆ Donations for Homeless Students — Starkville Oktibbeha School District's Project HELP is seeking donations of hygiene supplies, school supplies, school uniforms (new or used in good condition), socks and undergarme­nts for homeless students. ◆ J.L. King Instrument Ribbon Cutting — The Pilot Club of Starkville will host a ribbon cutting ceremony at J. L. King Memorial Park for new playground instrument­s Nov. 5, at 2 p.m. The free event is open to the public and will include a demonstrat­ion of the instrument­s by MSU's Dr. Bob Damm and a Brain Minders Puppet Show
